Developed India is a dream like the dream of independence: Prime Minister Narendra Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has termed 'Viksit Bharat 2047' (Developed India) as a mission of his government to secure and brighten the future of coming generations. While inaugurating a business conference on Friday, he said that the government's thinking and vision to make India a developed country by 2047 is absolutely clear and work on it will continue at a rapid pace.
The Prime Minister gave a strong response to critics who mock the 2047 target. He said some people ask who will be alive till 2047? I tell them that if the freedom fighters, those who were beaten with sticks, and those who were hanged had thought 'will we see freedom or not', would the country have ever been free? Our goal today is to sow the seed so that our future generations can reap its fruit.
The Prime Minister said the world is moving towards a big change and artificial intelligence (AI) will play a revolutionary role in it. Referring to the 'India AI Impact Summit' to be held next week, he said India is fully prepared to face these changes and lead the world.
The Prime Minister, while defending his government's decisions based on human compassion, clarified that despite 25 crore people coming out of poverty, free grain is needed so that they do not fall into the trap of poverty again. Triple talaq relief, a law for a dignified life for transgenders, and reservation for women in the legislature are the result of the government's sensitive thinking.
The Prime Minister highlighted the economic policies of the last 11 years. Now the focus is not just on allocating funds but on achieving results. The current budget has made arrangements for an investment of 17 lakh crore rupees.
The Prime Minister stated that compared to 2004-14, there has been a huge increase in the resources transferred to the states during 2014-24, which has reached Rs 84 lakh crore.
Before 2014, only 4 agreements were made, while the current government has so far made agreements covering 38 countries, which are a symbol of India's growing global confidence.
The Prime Minister said that before 2014, India's economy was among the world's five weakest economies, but today India is full of self-confidence. Due to the strong ecosystem of the manufacturing sector, India is now ready to compete at the global level and the world trusts India.
The Prime Minister concluded his address with these words: Reforms are not our compulsion but our conviction. Connecting those who were not reached by previous governments to the system is Modi's real goal.
