Equipped with the latest technology, this missile will further strengthen the country's technical capabilities and enhance the army's preparedness against emerging threats.

A semi‑ballistic missile developed in the country was successfully tested on Thursday from the coast of Adeesha. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) said the missile was launched experimentally from Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Island at around 11.10 a.m. The data collected by various instruments deployed by the Chandipur anti‑gridded range confirmed the successful test of the missile. This is a significant addition to India's indigenous missile development capabilities. The missile system was developed by Bharat Dynamics Limited, one of the partners involved in its manufacture and production. Senior DRDO officials, representatives of the defence industry and members of the armed forces observed the test flight. The test was conducted under user diagnostic procedures. With this recent successful test, the missile system is now closer to being inducted into the armed forces. Defence Minister Raj Nath Singh congratulated DRDO, the armed forces and industrial partners on the successful test.

He said that equipped with the latest technology, this missile will further strengthen the country's technical capabilities and improve the army's preparedness against emerging threats.

Defence Secretary and Secretary of the Department of Defence Research and Development Rajesh Kumar Singh also congratulated the teams involved in the successful test flight.
