RSS decides to increase focus on youth and women

President Draupadi Murmu has said that clean air and safe water sources are also very important to maintain a balanced ecosystem. He said that the more we conserve and save energy, it will be a sign of our responsibility towards nature and our sensitivity towards future generations.
Ms Murmu said this at the National Energy Conservation Award and National Painting Competition prize distribution ceremony on the occasion of 'National Energy Conservation Day' here on Sunday. The President of the Republic said that conservation of energy in an environment-friendly and reliable manner is the main source of energy.
Energy conservation is not just a choice, but the most important need of today.
He emphasized that energy conservation does not only mean using less, but also using energy wisely, responsibly and efficiently.
When we avoid unnecessary use of electrical appliances, adopt energy-efficient appliances, use natural light and ventilation in our homes and workplaces or adopt solar and renewable energy sources, we not only save energy, but also reduce carbon emissions, he said.
The President emphasized that energy conservation is the most important need of the day. If the youth and children are aware of energy conservation and strive in this direction, the goals in this field can be achieved and sustainable development of the country can be ensured. The President said that access to affordable and clean energy empowers communities. It boosts the local economy and creates new growth opportunities. Therefore, green energy is not only limited to power generation, but it is a powerful tool for empowerment and inclusive development.
He said that it is heartening to know that initiatives like 'Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana' and 'National Green Hydrogen Mission' are reducing dependence on biofuels.
Along with this, the government is also promoting renewable energy adoption and energy efficiency through renewable energy use liability and production-linked incentive schemes. He said that in 2023-24, India's energy efficiency efforts resulted in energy savings equivalent to 5.36 crore tonnes of oil. He said that due to these efforts, significant economic savings are being made annually and carbon dioxide emissions have also decreased significantly.
The President said that the participation of every sector and every citizen is essential for the success of India's energy transition. Attitudinal change is essential to bring about energy efficiency in all sectors. The spirit of living a balanced lifestyle in harmony with nature is the mainstay of India's cultural tradition. This spirit is our message to the world "Lifestyle for Environment". It forms the basis of life.
He appreciated all the partners working in the field of energy conservation and said that their cooperation will ensure a healthy and bright future for the coming generations.
