5 min read

Bhopal, December 23 (HS). Development in Madhya Pradesh is no longer limited to just projects and announcements. It is manifesting in tangible results in industry, investment, and employment. Since taking power, the government led by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has prioritized industrial development. The first division-level industrial conclave, the Global Investors Summit in Bhopal, which has been shifted from Indore to Gwalior, and the "Abhiyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit" to be held in Gwalior, all indicate that the state is moving forward with new confidence in attracting investment.

In this context, the year 2025 has proven to be a very successful year for the state. The Mohan Yadav government has adopted a strategy to spread industrial policy across the entire state, not limiting it to the capital Bhopal or select industrial cities. According to this vision, for the first time, industrial conferences were held in different divisions of the state, where local resources, connectivity, manpower, and regional capabilities were presented to investors. This had a direct effect, as investment proposals did not remain on paper but began to take practical shape.

According to the government, through the Global Investors Summit, regional industrial conferences, national interactive sessions, and foreign tours, investment proposals worth over Rs 32 lakh crore have been received. Of these, investment proposals worth approximately Rs 8.57 lakh crore have been implemented. Madhya Pradesh has become the third state in the country to attract the highest number of investment proposals in a year. So far, 881 industrial units have been allocated land, the foundation stone for 281 units has been laid, and 141 units have been inaugurated. To accelerate industrial development, 18 new policies have been approved, creating a new ecosystem for investment.

The next and most important milestone in this industrial journey is the "Abhiyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit" to be held on December 25, 2025, at the Gwalior Mela Ground. In the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the Chief Minister, this state-level event is themed "Investment to Employment, Madhya Pradesh." During the summit, foundation stones for projects worth over Rs 2 lakh crore will be laid.

Additionally, completed projects worth over Rs 10,000 crore will be dedicated, and industrial units will be allocated land along with letters of intent. Honoring beneficiaries of investment and presenting employment-based initiatives will also be part of the program. Notably, this platform will showcase units run by young people, successful beneficiaries, and women entrepreneurs, promoting women's empowerment and comprehensive development.

Under industrial reforms and innovation, special industrial zones will be launched, a "single-click incentive provision system" will be introduced, and new industrial clusters and plug-and-play units will be inaugurated. A comprehensive exhibition will also be held, highlighting the state government's successes, including policy reforms, investment incentives, infrastructure development, and employment opportunities, in a visual format. The platform will also showcase district-level industrial development and employment generation successes.

Madhya Pradesh is soon to have a Space Tech policy. In this regard, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the industrial environment in Madhya Pradesh is changing rapidly. The government is providing investors with better policies, incentives, eco-system, and market linkages. The government assists investors based on their needs. The state has ample land banks, water resources, skilled human resources, and the power of youth. The state government stands with investors at every step.

He also said that Madhya Pradesh has implemented 18 new industrial policies, making it easier to do business. The foundation stone for the country's largest PM Textile Park was laid in the Dhar district. Over 20 lakh MSME units are operating in the state, and lakhs of jobs have been created in the last three years. The state is the first in the country to implement a globally focused policy and APGC-X Hub. A Space Tech policy is also being introduced soon.

2025 was the 'Year of Industry' for Madhya Pradesh. The state government has declared 2025 as the "Year of Industry." As a result, nearly Rs 8 lakh crore worth of industries have been established in the state so far, and the government claims to have provided direct and indirect employment to about 600,000 people. The Global Investors Summit, held for the first time outside Indore in Bhopal, further accelerated this process.

Through this, the government presented the industrial potential of every region of the state to investors, resulting in the allocation of 5,550 acres of land for large projects in different areas. If we look at the region, every part of Madhya Pradesh is writing a new story of industrial development. In central Madhya Pradesh, adjacent to Bhopal, the foundation stone for the BEML rail hub manufacturing unit 'Brahma' was laid in the Raisen district.

This Rs 1,800 crore project will manufacture Vande Bharat and metro coaches, providing direct employment to 1,575 people. Meanwhile, a new industrial area is being developed in Acharpura, Bhopal, which is planned to be a hub for textile and pharmaceutical companies. The Malwa region is set to gain global recognition in textiles. The PM Mitra Textile Park being set up in the Dhar district of the Malwa region has the potential to put Madhya Pradesh on the global textile map.

Spread over 2,158 acres, this park will attract an investment of Rs 23,000 crore and provide employment to about 300,000 people. The Vikram Industrial Park in Ajaypur, Indore, is one of the four major parks in the country, with an investment of Rs 2,900 crore so far, and work on phase 2 has begun. In Bundelkhand, the Patanjali group will invest Rs 5,000 crore in Mogra, Rewa, generating 5,000 jobs.

In the Gwalior-Chambal region, investments by the Adani and Ambani groups in cement, jacket manufacturing, fertilizers, bio-gas, and renewable energy are bringing significant changes. The country's first solar energy storage project being set up in Morena is a symbol of this change. Thus, this year, with the theme of "Abhiyudaya Madhya Pradesh," the state has been successful in empowering it economically.

In the changing Madhya Pradesh, investment is becoming an opportunity, not a policy, and industries are directly generating employment opportunities.
