Karaikal, 14 February: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday claimed while addressing a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rally in Karaikal, Puducherry, that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win all 30 seats in the 2026 assembly elections by securing 60 percent of the votes. He appealed to the people of Puducherry to continue supporting the NDA.

While inaugurating the rally, Amit Shah paid homage to Sheneshwar and Bhadrakali Amman of Thirunallar. He apologized for not delivering his speech in Tamil, the world's oldest language. He said that his visit has two main objectives: first, to present the achievements of the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangaswamy before the public, and second, to highlight the performance of the previous governments.

He said that in the last five years, there has been an improvement in law and order in Puducherry and a new journey of development has begun. Referring to the NDA's 44 percent vote share in the 2021 elections, he expressed confidence that this figure will reach 60 percent in 2026 and the alliance will win all 30 seats.

Targeting the Congress government, Amit Shah said that during the Congress government at the center, terrorist attacks from Pakistan continued and were treated as routine. Referring to the 2019 Pulwama attack, he paid tribute to the 40 martyred CRPF personnel and said that for the first time during the Modi government, air strikes were carried out against Pakistan.

Regarding Puducherry, he said that the current government has established political stability and checked corruption. He alleged that during the tenure of former Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, no new industries were set up, while the current government is working to revive the textile industry.

At the conclusion of the public meeting, Amit Shah once again appealed to the people of Puducherry to continue supporting the National Democratic Alliance and take this journey of development forward.
