Patna, October 11 (ABN): The Energy Department has intensified preparations to ensure uninterrupted, quality, and safe electricity supply in the capital Patna during Durga Puja. In this regard, Energy Secretary and Chairman and Managing Director of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited, Ajay Yadav, and Managing Director of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited, Sourabh Jorwal, inspected the Durga Puja pandals being constructed at key locations in the city. The inspection included the 33/11 kV electricity substation at Shri Krishna Memorial, the Durga Puja Samiti pandal at Dak Bhingla Chauraha, Bhoomi Vikas Bank, Budh Marg, and the Durga Puja pandal located near Khajpurha Shiv Mandir on Bailey Road. During the visit, they reviewed electricity supply to the pandals, safety of wires and electrical equipment, the condition of power lines, readiness of transformers and feeders, and arrangements for handling emergencies.

Energy Secretary Ajay Yadav directed relevant officers and engineers to prioritize uninterrupted power supply and the safety of devotees during Durga Puja. He instructed them to meticulously inspect the electrical networks in and around the pandals and complete all necessary repairs according to prescribed standard operating procedures. He specifically emphasized the immediate repair of hanging and deteriorated wires, securing power lines passing through crowded areas, and promptly eliminating any potential hazards. Additionally, he directed ensuring proper maintenance of high tension (HT) and low tension (LT) networks, distribution transformers, and other electrical equipment. He also mandated the use of quality dielectric paint as needed, strict adherence to safety protocols, and the wearing of prescribed uniforms by personnel engaged in electrical work.

On the other hand, Sourabh Jorwal, Managing Director of South Bihar Power Distribution Company, stated that control rooms would be kept active to monitor the power distribution system during Durga Puja. Fuse call centers, field teams, and emergency repair crews have been instructed to remain on alert throughout the festival so that immediate action can be taken upon receiving any report of power-related complaints or faults. During the inspection, Pisu General Manager Deepak Kumar and other senior officers of the Energy Department were also present.
