Bowlers helped India win
The Indian cricket team handed South Africa a seven-wicket thrashing in the third T20 International played in Dharamshala today and took a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. India easily achieved the modest target of 118 runs with 25 balls to spare. Chasing the modest target of 118 runs set by South Africa, India made a stormy start. Opening batsmen Abhishek Sharma and Shubhman Gill put on a rapid 60-run partnership for the first wicket in just 5.1 overs. Abhishek Sharma played an innings of 35 runs off just 18 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes. He was dismissed by Corbin Bosch. Shubhman Gill contributed 28 runs, but was bowled by Marco Jansen. After the dismissal of captain Suryakumar Yadav (12), young batsman Tilak Verma took charge and scored 26 not out off 34 balls to steady the team. The final blow was dealt by Shiva Dubey, who hit a six on the fourth ball of the 16th over and a four on the fifth ball to bring India to 120 runs in 15.5 overs for the loss of three wickets, securing victory. Lungi Ngidi, Corbin Bosch, and Marco Jansen each took one wicket. Earlier, India had won the toss and opted to bowl first. South Africa's start was extremely poor, with three key players returning to the pavilion for just seven runs (Reeza Hendricks 0, Quinton de Kock 1, David Miller 2). Captain Aiden Markram put up lone resistance, scoring 61 runs off 46 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakravarthy, Kuldeep Yadav, and Harshit Rana all took two wickets each, and South Africa's entire team was bowled out for 117 runs. Arshdeep Singh was named Man of the Match.
