During the World Economic Forum in Davos, the official delegation of the Jharkhand government, led by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, held an important meeting with the top leadership of Tata Steel. During the meeting, Tata Steel reiterated its commitment to invest a total of Rs 11,000 crore in Jharkhand under the "New Age Green Steel Technology", for which a memorandum of understanding and cooperation agreement were signed. The investment includes Rs 7,000 crore in Hira Sarna Easy and Melt Technology, Rs 1,500 crore in the Kombai Mill project, and Rs 2,600 crore in the Tin Plate expansion project. All these projects will be based on environmentally friendly green steel technology, using modern technology from the Netherlands and Germany.

Chief Minister Soren said that the Jharkhand government is giving top priority to sustainable industrial development, clean technology, and local employment opportunities. This partnership with Tata Steel will play a crucial role in taking the state's industrial capacity to new heights, as well as making Jharkhand a leader in green industrial transformation. This investment will not only strengthen the state's mineral-based industrial system but also accelerate the national goals of green energy and climate-friendly development.

The Hitachi company has proposed an investment in electricity, high-level griding, and modern infrastructure. The World Economic Forum presented a white paper to the Chief Minister and formally presented a letter of cooperation. This cooperation is based on three key themes according to the WEF centers - critical minerals and new energy, and the protection of climate and biodiversity. The state government's "Vision 2050" is fully aligned with the WEF's concept of an inclusive society. Through this partnership, a meaningful and long-term effort will be made towards learning, knowledge exchange, and action-based cooperation.

The result of the Jharkhand government's official visit to Sweden last year has also come to the fore. Sweden has moved forward with discussions on investment in urban transport. In this regard, a roundtable meeting will be held in April between Sweden and India for possible cooperation and investment. During the meeting, the Chief Minister also met with Swedish companies that were discussed during the visit to Sweden last year.

A meeting also took place with representatives of the World Women Leaders Forum, which expressed a desire to establish a collaborative framework with the Jharkhand government to empower women political leadership, especially for women from backward classes. Along with this, a proposal was also made to establish an India chapter and a joint and non-partisan platform for women representatives of all political parties, which will promote dialogue, capacity building, and cooperation.

Those who attended the meeting with Chief Minister Soren and the official delegation included Tata Steel's MD & CEO TV Narendran, Sweden India Business Council's Chief India Representative Cecilia Oldne, Women Political Leaders Forum President Silvana Koch-Mehrin, World Economic Forum (WEF) Varun Mehta, Hitachi India's Regional Head Bharat Koshal, and Tech Mahindra's IMEA Division President and Chairman Sahil Dhoun.
