The Indian cricket team has won the five-match series 1-3 by defeating South Africa by 30 runs in the fifth and decisive T-20 match played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Chasing India's mountainous target of 232 runs, the South African team could only manage 201 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the big target of 232 runs, South African openers Quinton de Kock and Reeza Hendricks provided an aggressive start of 69 runs, but in the seventh over, Varun Chakravarthy gave the first breakthrough by dismissing Hendricks (13). Jasprit Bumrah turned the match around by catching the dangerous de Kock off his own bowling. De Kock scored 65 runs off 35 balls, including 9 fours and 3 sixes. As soon as de Kock was out, South Africa lost the match.

Varun Chakravarthy devastated the South African middle order with his magical spin, dismissing captain Aiden Markram (6) and Donovan Ferreira (0) on consecutive balls. From South Africa, David Miller scored 31 runs, but the wickets that fell at regular intervals took the Proteas away from the target. Varun Chakravarthy (4 wickets), Jasprit Bumrah (2 wickets), Arshdeep Singh, and Hardik Pandya (1, 1 wicket) were the main destroyers.

Earlier, India, after losing the toss and batting first, scored 231 runs for 5 wickets. Abhishek Sharma (34) and Sanju Samson (37) added 63 runs for the first wicket. In the middle order, there was a rapid 105-run partnership for the fourth wicket between Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma. Pandya scored 63 runs off just 25 balls (5 fours, 5 sixes), while Tilak Verma played a brilliant innings of 73 runs off 42 balls (10 fours, 1 six). From South Africa, Corbin Bosch took 2 wickets, but he could not stop the Indian batsmen from scoring big. India's win has once again proved that Team India's dominance in the T-20 format continues.
