The world will keep moving even without Pakistan: Kapil Dev

Kapil Dev, a cricket legend and the captain who led India to its first World Cup victory, has strongly criticized Pakistan's decision not to play against India in the World T20 2026. Kapil Dev said that if Pakistan takes the path of boycott, the world will not remember them for a long time and the cricket caravan will move forward without them.

Kapil Dev, while talking to a news channel, said that this decision is not of the players but of the board and the government, which is unfortunate. According to Kapil, Pakistan has always given the best talent to cricket, but such decisions will destroy an entire generation of young players. He said that when the board stops players from playing, it damages the country's reputation globally.

Kapil Dev said bluntly, emotions will certainly have a temporary impact, but the truth is that after some time, no one will miss them. People will move on. On the other hand, the International Cricket Council has also taken a tough stance on the matter. The ICC says that "selective participation" (playing matches of one's choice) is against the basic principles of international sports.

The ICC clarified that this decision could have serious implications for Pakistan's cricket future, as Pakistan is a part of and benefits from the global cricket system. According to the ICC, every qualified team is expected to play all matches as per the schedule on equal terms.
