Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary transferred a total of 1237 crore 48 lakh rupees to the bank accounts of 1 crore 8 lakh 36 thousand social protection pension recipients via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) on Saturday.
Under this scheme, each beneficiary received a pension amount of 1100 rupees. Thus, the elderly, disabled persons, widows, and deprived sections of society will benefit.
Speaking at the program held in the Lok Sewak Awas “Sankalp” auditorium, Chief Minister said that the government is committed to the dignity and social protection of the weak and needy sections of society. Under the leadership of former Chief Minister Nitesh Kumar, the social protection pension amount was increased from 400 rupees to 1100 rupees. He said that approximately 90,000 to 100,000 new beneficiaries are joining the scheme every month.
Chief Minister said that the government has ensured that the social protection pension amount is transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts on the 10th of every month. He instructed all district magistrates to ensure that no eligible person is deprived of the pension and that the process from beneficiary identification to disbursement is completed transparently within the stipulated time.
He also appealed to public representatives to verify during their constituency visits that all eligible individuals are receiving pensions. He instructed that a special campaign be launched on Panchayat Development Day and that eligible pension recipients be identified during health surveys, so that no deserving person is deprived of the scheme’s benefits.
Samrat Chaudhary said that everyone must work together to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to a developed India and former Chief Minister Nitesh Kumar’s dream of a prosperous spring.
He said that the increase in pension amount has brought positive change to beneficiaries’ lives and that the government is determined to provide social protection to the poor, elderly, disabled persons, widows, and other needy groups.
During the program, Secretary of Social Welfare W. N. Singh Ganjial welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting a green plant and a memorandum. At the occasion, Deputy Chief Minister B. P. Yadaw, Minister of Social Welfare Dr. Shweta Gupta, Chief Secretary Pratey Amrit, Chief Minister’s Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh, and Sanjeev Kumar Singh, along with several senior officers, were present. Through video conferencing, all district magistrates, pension recipients, and other relevant persons from all districts also joined the program.
