Alarming rise in anti-Muslim incidents in Britain, a mosque attacked every 5 days

Awaz E Bihar•25 July 2026 at 04:06 pm•3 views•2 min read

A alarming increase in anti-Muslim incidents has been reported in the UK, where a mosque is being targeted on average every five days. According to details, the situation of attacks on Muslims and mosques in the UK has become extremely alarming, as revealed in separate reports released by the British Muslim Trust and the UK Home Office. The reports indicate that there is a rapid increase in anti-Muslim incidents and online hate in the country, prompting the government to take emergency measures to tighten mosque security.

The British Muslim Trust report states that in the UK, a mosque is being targeted on average every five days, with over 70 mosques attacked across the country in the past year. The majority of Islamophobic incidents and attacks occurred in London, Manchester, and Birmingham. In London alone, nine different mosques were attacked, while a single mosque in Birmingham was targeted three times in the past year.

The report highlights that there has been a dangerous increase in incidents of intimidation, physical attacks, and online hate against Muslims in the UK. The UK Home Office has also confirmed these statistics, stating that according to official records, there has been a 19% increase in anti-Muslim incidents.

To provide protection to mosques and the Muslim community, the UK government has announced a special fund of £40 million (4 million pounds) this year to improve mosque security and safety measures. The Home Office has directed all mosques at risk to submit applications for security funding and has assured that efforts are being made to provide these funds as soon as possible.

The UK Home Office emphasizes that it is not only important for Muslims in the UK to be safe but also to feel safe, and the government will make every possible effort to eliminate the hateful attitudes that Muslims are currently facing, and such fascism will not be tolerated.
