Iran's Atomic Energy Organization said a projectile landed in the perimeter of the Bushehr nuclear power plant in an attack by the US and Israel, but caused no damage to the facility. Iran's official news agency, IRNA, quoted the Atomic Energy Organization as saying that an attack occurred near the plant in the southern city of Bushehr at around 9:08 pm local time. In a statement, the organization said "the American and Zionist enemy has once again attacked the Bushehr nuclear power plant, and a projectile has landed within the perimeter of the Bushehr power plant". It added that "initial reports indicate that the incident has caused no material or technical damage to the facility, nor any human casualties". Additionally, various parts of the power plant are also secure. IRNA described the attack as part of ongoing "hostile actions" by the US and Israel. According to initial reports, there were no casualties or material damage, and all parts of the nuclear facility are intact. This is the second attack near the nuclear facility in recent days, with a similar attack occurring on March 17, in which no material damage or casualties were reported. Iran's military claimed it successfully targeted key Israeli aerospace and arms manufacturing centers in recent drone attacks. According to a report by Fars News Agency, affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the military said in a statement that it launched a series of successful drone attacks early in the morning, targeting Rafael arms industries in Haifa and aerospace facilities near Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. The statement said that Rafael Weapons Industries is a key manufacturer of military technology, responsible for advanced defense systems such as the Iron Dome and David's Sling. Since the start of the war, the Iranian military has carried out numerous military operations under Operation Vadeh Sadegh 4, which began immediately after a joint US-Israeli military attack on Iran in late February. Rafael's logistics and military center had previously been targeted by ballistic missiles launched by the Revolutionary Guards. According to the military statement, during the military operation on Tuesday, Iranian drones also targeted several fueling planes at the airport. As the war continues in Iran, reports emerged on Wednesday that the US and Israel have provided temporary protection to two senior Iranian officials, while negotiations with Tehran are ongoing. According to Israeli Channel 14, the officials are Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. The protection is reportedly in place for at least five days, covering the current negotiating period, although US, Israeli, or Iranian authorities have not formally confirmed the arrangement. Iran's Foreign Ministry expressed distrust of US diplomacy, stating that the US has prioritized war twice, while the ministry expressed full confidence in Araqchi's diplomatic role and Ghalibaf's duties under the constitution. CNN quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh as saying: "We are ready to hear sustainable proposals to end the war". Meanwhile, a US official told "XX" that Vice President JD Vance may participate in negotiations with Iran, a recommendation made by President Donald Trump's advisor Steve Witkoff. XX reported, citing a White House official, that the option of ground operations in Iran is available, but President Donald Trump has not made a final decision yet. The official said that President Trump is optimistic about the prospects of negotiations and a meeting in Pakistan is possible, but no final decision has been made. The official added that Iran has informed intermediaries that they have been deceived by Trump twice and will not accept a third deception. Tehran also told intermediaries that the deployment of US forces is increasing their suspicions that Trump's negotiation plan is just a deception, however, the White House assured Tehran that President Trump is serious about negotiations and the possible involvement of the Vice President is evidence of this seriousness. It was further stated that Steve Witkoff recommended the Vice President's involvement because of his official status and that he is not considered a hardliner in Iran's view. According to Israeli Channel 12, informed sources said that a plan is being developed for a ceasefire in Iran, which is being worked on by President Donald Trump's envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, with Trump's approval. Under the plan, a one-month ceasefire will be declared, during which negotiations will take place on a 15-point agreement, largely based on the model of agreements reached in Gaza and Lebanon. Meanwhile, the arrival of US troops in the region continues. A Pentagon official told The New York Times that the latest US military contingent will be in a parachute unit position near Iran.
