It's been a year since the Indian Army launched 'Operation Sandor' in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi updated his social media profile with a picture of 'Operation Sandor'. Along with this, the Prime Minister said that even after a year, India remains committed to defeating terrorism and dismantling the ecosystem that promotes it.
On the completion of one year of military action against terrorists and terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK), Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday in a post on social media platform 'X' that this operation demonstrated India's strong response to terrorism and its unwavering commitment to protecting national security.
PM Modi said that even after a year, India remains unwavering in its commitment to defeating terrorism and dismantling the ecosystem that promotes it. A year ago, the Indian armed forces showed unprecedented bravery, preparedness, and strong determination during 'Operation Sandor'. The forces gave a befitting reply to those who dared to attack innocent Indian civilians in Pahalgam, and the entire country salutes the bravery of the Indian forces.
Regarding 'Operation Sandor', PM Modi said, "Operation Sandor demonstrated India's strong response to terrorism and its unwavering commitment to protecting national security. This operation also highlighted the professional capability, preparedness, and coordinated power of our armed forces." He further wrote, "It also showed the growing unity among India's security forces and the strength that self-reliance efforts in the defense sector have provided to the country's national security."
It is worth noting that a few days after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, the three defense forces, along with the Border Security Force (BSF), launched 'Operation Sandor' on the western border. Through this operation, terrorist and military targets in Pakistan and POK were targeted between May 7 and 10 last year. This operation was carried out in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, in which 26 people were killed, most of whom were tourists.
