Nationwide demonstration of Congress in favor of demand for resignation and arrest of Gyanesh Kumar

The Congress staged a nationwide demonstration on Friday demanding the resignation and arrest of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of 'voting' by deleting the names of more than 13 crore voters from the voter list through a Special Detailed Review (SIR). was instructed to do. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also said during a press conference on Thursday that the Congress will not remain silent on this issue and will protest against 'vote theft' across the country. In the national capital Delhi, the Youth Congress protested outside the Election Commission office demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and a fair and independent investigation into the allegations related to the functioning and decision-making process of the Election Commission. Led by Youth Congress National President Uday Bhanu Chubb, the activists raised slogans and demanded transparency and accountability.
Mr. Chubb said that the Election Commission is a constitutional body and should protect the right of every citizen to vote freely and fairly. The Youth Congress has demanded the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar and an inquiry into the allegations of vote theft. The protesters were barricaded by the Delhi Police and when they did not comply, several other leaders and activists, including Mr. Chubb, were detained. The protest included Ajay Chikara, Ms. Khushboo Sharma and Akshay Lakra among others. In Guwahati, Assam, Congress workers staged a demonstration demanding the resignation and arrest of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Anyone who attacks the vote and fundamentally destroys India's democratic institutions is a 'traitor,' the party said. The Congress said that Gyanesh Kumar should resign and be arrested and the party would continue its protest. The police have detained the state president Gaurav Gogoi. In Bihar's capital Patna, Congress workers staged a protest under the leadership of state president Rajesh Kumar. The party said that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has 'stolen the vote and robbed the people's decision and this is a betrayal of the country. The Congress has demanded that Gyanesh Kumar resign and be arrested.
In Tripura's capital Agartala, led by state Congress in-charge Saptgiri Olaka and state Congress president Ashish Saha, protested against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and demanded his resignation. The party said that it will continue to raise its voice till the response is assured. In Imphal, the capital of Manipur, the State Congress Committee led by Mr. Okram Abubi Singh demonstrated against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and demanded action against him. The party said that the protest will continue till the removal, arrest and punishment of Gyanesh Kumar. In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Congress workers staged a demonstration demanding the immediate arrest of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The party said that Gyanesh Kumar has done the work of deshdrohi and he has no right to sit on the election commissioner's chair.
In Odisha's capital Bhubaneswar, led by State Congress President Bhakt Charandas, a demonstration was held against the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and demanded his resignation and arrest. In Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, Congress workers staged a protest in the presence of State In-charge Rajni Patil, State President Vinay Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri. The party said that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has 'stolen the country by stealing votes which can never be forgiven and he should resign from his post and be arrested. Congress workers demonstrated in the presence of state in-charge general secretary Ms. Kumari Shilaja, state president Ganesh Godyal and leader of the Congress Legislature Party Yashpal Arya in Uttarakhand's capital Dehra Dun.
The party said that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has 'stolen the country by stealing votes and has done the work of deshdrohi and it demands that he should resign and be immediately arrested. Punjab Congress workers led by state president Raja Wading demonstrated in Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab. The party said that in a democracy, 'stealing votes is nationalism' and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar should resign immediately and be arrested. In Goa, the Congress, led by Manak Rao Thackeray and Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Gupresh Choudingkar, staged a demonstration against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and demanded his immediate arrest and prosecution. The party said that its agitation will continue until the answer is ascertained. In Tamil Nadu, the Congress, led by state Congress president Mankam Tagore, protested against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and demanded his immediate arrest and prosecution.
