An Iranian newspaper, Hamshahri, has published a purported list of 'revenge targets' following the martyrdom of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, featuring images of several world leaders. The list, published by Hamshahri, shows images of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a target sign, while 11 other world leaders are depicted in orange prison uniforms. The list includes British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, and French President Emmanuel Macron, among others. The publication comes after Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, made his first public statement following the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He said that revenge is the desire of our nation and it will be fulfilled necessarily. Mojtaba Khamenei stated that those criminals whose names are on the list will take their wish for a peaceful death to their graves. According to international media reports, Mojtaba Khamenei had not appeared in public before the war and there were reports that he was injured in the same attack that killed his father. The French news agency reported that Hamshahri published the statement along with an online list, however, the list was not included in the newspaper's edition. It is clear that there is no evidence of official support from the Iranian government for the list. On the other hand, US media has claimed that Iran had planned to assassinate US President Donald Trump. According to US authorities, Israel had provided the US with classified information about a specific plot against Trump. Reports suggest that due to a potential threat, Trump changed planes on his return from the NATO summit in Turkey, Trump told journalists that I am on every list of Iran. Meanwhile, tensions in the region persist, with the US targeting nearly 140 targets in response to attacks on commercial ships the previous day. Iran has accused the ships of ignoring warnings about designated routes. Iran has announced that it will keep the Strait of Hormuz closed until US interference ends. The Strait of Hormuz normally handles around 20% of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas supply. Iranian authorities have also criticized several Gulf countries, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman, following the US attacks, with Qatar describing the attacks as dangerous escalation and Oman also condemning them. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated on a social media website that the era of one-sided agreements is over, fulfill your promises or pay the price, reality is knocking on the door.
