No intention to negotiate with Washington for now

Awaz E Bihar•20 April 2026 at 03:20 pm•0 views•3 min read

Iran has ruled out further negotiations with the US and said it has no intention of talking to Washington at the moment.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bakhshi said in a news conference that there are no plans for a new round of negotiations with the US, and there is no intention to negotiate with Washington at the moment.
The spokesperson said that negotiating with the US is not possible under current circumstances, as the US is not learning from the past, and there has been no change in US policies, which will not yield better results. According to Iran's Foreign Ministry, the US's continued mistakes could be dangerous for the region, and wrong policies will never yield positive results, and the US approach is creating more tension in the region.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that the US's actions are increasing the crisis in the region instead of stability, and the US is making contradictory statements through the media, while Iran has maintained a single stance, and its conditions are based on logic, and some media are making claims that have no relation to reality. Ismail Bakhshi said that the US cannot be trusted, as it is still relying on unrealistic demands, and in the past, the US has taken actions that violate agreements. The US has continued the naval blockade, violating the ceasefire, and US actions indicate that they are not interested in diplomacy, and in such a situation, Iran will continue to protect its interests.
The spokesperson said that Iran's national interests cannot be sacrificed for the sake of any country's mischief, and Pakistan has been informed about the US's violations of the ceasefire as a mediator, and Pakistan has played its role in maintaining peace, and the US has used neighboring countries' bases for aggression against Iran. He said that Iran had presented a 10-point proposal, which was discussed in the Islamabad Talks, but the US refused to recognize the ceasefire in Lebanon as part of the ceasefire agreement, and the US has increased tensions by imposing a naval blockade, and the attack on an Iranian ship is a violation of the ceasefire and international laws, and it has violated the negotiation process twice, and we had opened the Strait of Hormuz based on the ceasefire in Lebanon, but we have seen many US actions that indicate the US is not serious about the ceasefire.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that there will be no compromise on national security, and the Iranian armed forces are ready to give a strong response to any attack. He said that the US has made a lot of statements in the media about the transfer of enriched uranium, while during the negotiation period, it did not even discuss the transfer of enriched uranium. Ismail Bakhshi said that the enemy does not want to see Iran's progress in the scientific field, and like other countries, the Iranian people have the right to progress in the scientific field, and the enemy has targeted our universities and schools to stop Iran's progress.
