Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary through video conferencing today transferred a total of Rs 1233.87 crore through DBT to the bank accounts of 105.68 lakh beneficiaries under the Social Security Pension Scheme for the month of August at Rs 1100 per person. This year 98,896 new beneficiaries have joined the scheme. On this occasion, he said that the pension amount will be transferred to the accounts of all social security pensioners through DBT on the 10th of every month. During the program, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for widening and strengthening the road from Km 28.340 (Gangta) to Km 38.340 (Kudwarwa) on National Highway No. 333 from remote areas.
During his address on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the state government is committed to provide social security to the eligible people of all sections of the society without discrimination. Under the Social Security Pension Scheme, a monthly pension of Rs 1,100 is provided to the beneficiaries. An amount of Rs.1,233.87 crore has been transferred as pension through DBT in the bank accounts of 105.68 lakh beneficiaries for August 2026. Timely disbursement of pension amount to beneficiaries' accounts is a priority of the government and 10th of every month is designated for disbursement of pension. This year, 98,896 new beneficiaries have been added to the Social Security Pension Scheme.
The Chief Minister said that the Department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of Bihar laid the foundation stone for the road widening and strengthening project on National Highway No. 333 from Km 28.340 (Gangta) to Km 38.340 (Kohbarwa Mor). Better road connectivity will facilitate transportation in Monger, Jamui and surrounding areas and speed up development. The Chief Minister said that 13 districts of Bihar are affected by floods. More than crores of people have been affected. The government is making flood prevention efforts. Ganga river needs to be dammed from Buxar to Bhagalpur. Starting from Buxar, the river Ganga flows into Bhagalpur. We must address this to ensure flood relief. Under the agreement with Bangladesh, we can draw Ganga water only for four months. Bihar's interests should be considered in the water agreement with Bangladesh so that we can use Ganga water throughout the year. Efforts will be made to include a clause in the Farkha water agreement that allows Bihar to withdraw water whenever it needs.
The Chief Minister said that a health check-up campaign is being conducted across Bihar from September 1 to November 30. Under this initiative, about Rs 6.5 crore people will be health checked up. Treatment will also be done after medical examination. Seva Sankalp Kekalp Abhiyan will start from 17th September. Under this initiative, the infrastructure of schools will be improved. Toilets will be provided in schools and Anganwadi centers where these are not available. Courts will start functioning in Tarapur and Haveli Kharagpur this month.
He said that Monger-Jamoi forest area will be developed under a project worth around Rs 150 crore. Bhim Dam has historical and natural significance. Forests will be developed and beautified in the Bhim Dam area. Along with developing international standard infrastructure, facilities like trekking and hotels will be developed within the forest to attract tourists from India and abroad.
