Washington: (Agency) US President Donald Trump has issued a fresh threat to Iran, saying powerful and large US warships are heading towards the Middle Eastern country. During a conversation with journalists on Air Force One, when asked about the current position regarding Iran, President Trump said he could not say the final word, however, he said large and powerful US ships are heading in that direction. He added that he hopes to reach an acceptable agreement. Donald Trump said that if a negotiated agreement without nuclear weapons is possible, Iran should accept it. He said he is not sure if Iran will do so, but the talks are ongoing and being held seriously. On the other hand, in Tehran, members of the Iranian parliament wore Revolutionary Guard uniforms and chanted anti-US slogans during a meeting on Sunday. The speaker of the Iranian parliament announced on February 1 that European forces are terrorist groups. This statement came after the European Union's decision to declare the Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization. A report by the British newspaper Telegraph has shown an image of US military aid in the Middle East, according to which if a political decision is made, Washington is ready to launch a military attack against Tehran. The center of these military preparations is the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, which has entered the region, accompanied by three missile-carrying destroyers of the Arleigh Burke class. Generally, this naval fleet is also accompanied by a nuclear-attack submarine that remains secretly active underwater. This naval group is considered a strong means of US defense capability without land bases. The aircraft carrier group includes squadrons of F-35 stealth aircraft that have the capability to evade modern air defense systems. In addition, FA-18 Super Hornet fighter jets and EA-18G Growler aircraft, which specialize in electronic warfare, are also part of the group. Along with the Abraham Lincoln, the USS Frank E. Petersen Jr., USS Michael Murphy, and USS Spruance are also deployed. These destroyers are equipped with long-range Tomahawk land-attack missiles that can be used for distant attacks. The United States has also moved Patriot and THAAD air defense systems to the region to protect its bases, forces, and allies from potential missile attacks. According to the Associated Press, dozens of US military aircraft have been seen moving towards the region. It is estimated that after the arrival of the aircraft carrier, the total number of US forces has reached nearly 50,000. This situation has left the next stage open to all possibilities, whether it is military escalation or a compromise under pressure. Meanwhile, the Daily Mail has published images of Iranian nuclear facilities, military bases, and oil centers that the United States could potentially target. According to the Daily Mail, the US Air Force plans to deploy additional F-15E Strike Eagle aircraft from the 494th Fighter Squadron base in Lakenheath, UK, to the region. These aircraft are equipped for deep strikes, precise targeting, and bunker-busting bombs. KC-135 Stratotankers will be used for aerial refueling. At another airbase, an RC-135 Rivet Joint surveillance and intelligence aircraft is deployed, which monitors the Iranian radar system and plays a role in identifying targets.
