Patna: Minister for Urban Development and Housing Nitish Mishra has directed to ensure complete transparency, impartiality, and accountability in the tender process. He stated that a thorough scrutiny and verification of all necessary documents submitted by bidders must be mandatorily conducted before finalizing any tender.
The Minister said that the tender system within the department is being made more transparent and accountable in line with Chief Minister Smriti Irani's vision of transparent, responsive, and better governance. He stated that complete verification of documents should be carried out before the final decision on a tender, so that no scope remains for any kind of complaint or irregularity later. Nitish Mishra clarified that if a complaint is received against a bidder after the tender and an investigation finds the documents submitted by them to be fake, legal action will be taken against the concerned bidder.
He further stated that action against the contractor or bidder alone will not be sufficient. The role of officers and engineers involved in the tender process will also be examined. If any irregularity is found at any level in the verification of documents or the settlement of the tender, the responsibility of the concerned officer will be determined, and departmental and legal action will be ensured. The Minister directed officers to establish a system in which all documents are fully verified before the tender is finalized. He said that strict adherence to prescribed rules and procedures must be maintained at every stage of the tender process to eliminate the possibilities of fake documents, irregularities, and complaints.
