Chief Minister Shri Smriti Irani inaugurated the newly constructed astronomy laboratory at PM Shri Central School in Karup Panchayat, Shivagar Block, Rohtas district today. On the occasion, he interacted with the school’s students and observed various scientific models prepared by them. The students explained their scientific models in detail to the Chief Minister. Prior to this, the Chief Minister visited the classroom to discuss the quality of education with the students and gathered information from the teachers present there. Subsequently, the Chief Minister inspected stalls set up by Jeevika, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Health, the Department of Energy, the Department of Rural Development, the Department of Panchayati Raj, and other departments within the school premises and gathered information about them. The Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development schemes worth approximately 40 billion rupees. After inaugurating the three-day “Seva Sita Abhiyan” and “Sahayog Shivir,” the Chief Minister stated in his address that the target is to increase the number of tourists visiting the region’s tourist spots from approximately 50,000 to 500,000 in the next five years. He stated that the target is to complete the work of bringing Son River water to the cities of Sasaram and Aurangabad before March. Following the agreement on the distribution of Son River water, Bihar has received approximately three-quarters of the Son River water. He expressed gratitude to Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for this. Highlighting the historical and cultural significance of Rohtas, the Chief Minister stated that the new township being established here will be named “Rohtas.” He stated that “Sahayog Shivir” is being held twice a month, while “Seva Sita Abhiyan” will continue for three days from October 6 to 8. Its objective is to ensure the resolution of common people’s problems at the local level. He stated that if the concerned officer or employee exceeds the prescribed period of 30 days in deciding on any application received under Sahayog Shivir, they will be directly suspended. The Chief Minister appealed to Jeevika didis and officials to go village to village to resolve public issues, stating that development will take place with justice and work will be done with the spirit of “development for all, with all.” The Chief Minister stated that the campaign to empower women economically through Jeevika groups was launched in 2005 under the leadership of former Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar. At that time, the market in the hands of women in Bihar was approximately 50 billion rupees, which has now grown to approximately 136,000 billion rupees. He stated that approximately 5 million “Lakshpati Didis” have been created in Bihar, while work is underway to empower 4 million women as “Pashu Sukhi.” He stated that the government is increasing employment and industrial opportunities to prevent large-scale migration from Bihar. The target was set to provide employment to 10 million people in the last five years under the determination of former Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar. The government’s objective is to ensure that no poor person in Bihar is forced to leave the state for wage labor before 2030. The Chief Minister stated that there are several important tourist spots in Rohtas and nearby areas, including Ma Tarachandi Mandir, Gupta Dham, Ma Titla Bhawani Dham, Yekshani Bhawani Dham, and Chaurasan Dham. The Department of Tourism, Department of Forests, Department of Irrigation and Water Resources, and various other departments have been given responsibility for the development of these areas. He stated that currently, approximately 50,000 people visit these places, and the government is striving to increase this number to at least 500,000 in the next five years. The Chief Minister stated that to ensure children in Bihar do not have to head to cities like Patna, Delhi, Mumbai, and Kota for better education, educational facilities such as Model Schools and Sushakti Vidyalaya are being strengthened in the state. He stated that approximately 350,000 children are receiving education under this system. Along with connecting teachers from Kota, education is also being arranged through video conferencing. Through the “Vidyarthi Theti Sahathi App,” children in Bihar are getting the facility to study online with teachers at night. Work is also being done to provide better educational facilities at the home and block level for children preparing for competitive exams like JEE and NET. The Chief Minister stated that for a long time after independence, the number of higher education institutions in Bihar remained limited. By 2026, there were 272 degree colleges in the state. Subsequently, the government established degree colleges in 211 blocks simultaneously on July 15. Continuous work is being done to ensure the availability of teachers in these colleges, and opportunities are being provided to teachers associated with teaching in various prestigious institutions of the country to serve in Bihar. The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and former Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar, a major transformation has taken place in the power sector in Bihar.

Today, approximately 19.3 million families in the state have electricity connections, of which about 17 million families have had zero electricity bills for the past year. The government’s goal is to ease the lives of ordinary people while moving Bhopal forward on the path of prosperity. He said that industrial and employment opportunities are being expanded in the state to prevent migration from Bhopal. The government is inviting people from the country and the world to invest in Bhopal so that young people can find employment and self‑employment opportunities within the state. Rural women are being economically empowered through sectors such as “Likh Pati Didi,” “Pashu Sakhi,” and milk production. The Chief Minister said that continuous work is being done on the development of basic infrastructure such as roads, irrigation, and drainage in Bhopal. He explained that the opening of development schemes worth more than ₹400 crore and water‑drainage related work at the event has been dedicated to the public. He also said that the proposal to cut through the mountain to prepare a road during the construction of the Banaras‑Ranji route has been approved. The Chief Minister said that a team of approximately 5,000 police “didi” units has been formed to further strengthen good governance in Bhopal. He clarified that strict action will be taken against those who break the law and play with peace and order. In the event of any criminal incident, the goal is to ensure effective police action within 24 hours. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is moving forward with the determination to make India a developed country by 2047, while former Chief Minister Shri Nitesh Kumar had envisioned a prosperous Bhopal. The Bhopal government is continuously working to advance both objectives. He said that “Seva Sita Abhi” is also part of this extensive effort, through which the government is directly connecting with ordinary people to solve their problems. The Chief Minister said that the historic land of Rohitasa has played an important role in the country’s history. This land, associated with Sher Shah Suri and Emperor Ashoka, has its own unique identity. The government is determined to bring the development and tourism potential of Rohitasa to new heights. At the event, public representatives and officials welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting shawls, mementos, and plants. The program was attended by the Minister of Food and Consumer Protection, Mr. Ashok Chaudhary, the Minister of Sports, Ms. Shreysi Singh, Member of Parliament Mr. Opinder Kushwah, Assembly members Mr. Marari Prasad Gootam, Ms. Sineh Lata, Mr. Alok Singh, Mr. Vishisht Singh, Mr. Nagindar Chandrani, Mr. Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Mr. Vishal Prashant, and other public representatives; Chief Secretary Mr. Prithvi Amrit; the Chief Minister’s secretary and the Secretary of Tourism Mr. Lokesh Kumar Singh; the Secretary of Road Construction Mr. Pankaj Kumar Pal; DGPI Ms. Preeta Verma; Deputy Inspector General of Police of Shahabad Mr. Satya Prakash; District Magistrate Mr. Deepak Kumar Mishra; SP Mr. Raj; and other officers, along with a large number of students, teachers, and ordinary people.
