Family, colleagues, and literary figures attend, Ayubi hailed as a symbol of truth and sincerity
A solemn, emotional, and cultural tribute session was organized by the organization Aayida at the Shakuntalam Studio in Maltnagar, Andheri, northwest Mumbai, on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of renowned journalist, writer, and short story writer Mahmoud Ayubi. The session was attended by the late Ayubi's family, close friends, journalistic and literary colleagues, and personalities associated with the fine arts, who paid tribute to Ayubi's life, character, and services.

The event began with the inaugural remarks by Aayida President Majib Khan, who, while mentioning his long-standing relationship and artistic camaraderie with Ayubi, said that when he decided to start a dramatic series "Aadab, Main Premchand Hoon" based on the stories of Munshi Premchand, Ayubi was his first choice to play the role of Premchand. According to Majib Khan, Ayubi had said in his characteristic simplicity, "You are taking a big risk," but time proved that it was not a risk but a historic decision. The show was extremely successful and is now considered one of the longest-running stage drama traditions in India, also recognized by the Limca Book of Records and the World Wide Book of Records.

During the event, Ayubi's colleague Riyaz Sheikh shed light on his sharp sense of humor, witty remarks, and ability to keep the gathering alive, while Saraj Ansari shared memorable moments spent with him. Senior journalist Saeed Hamid, while mentioning Ayubi's straightforwardness, simplicity, and literary gatherings at the Nigar Library, said that Ayubi was a person whose heart reflected truth and transparency like a mirror. He said, "Ayubi Sahab cannot come back, but we can still adopt his truth and honesty in our lives today." Ayubi was hailed as a symbol of truth and sincerity.

The most emotional moment of the gathering came when Ayubi's daughter Fauzia Ayubi expressed her thoughts. With a trembling voice and tearful eyes, she talked about her father's philanthropy, hospitality, and philosophy of life. She shared an incident where she had complained to her father about the number of visitors, to which Ayubi had replied, "People will come to us while we are alive, but no one will come after our death." The gathering fell into deep silence after hearing this sentence.

Finally, Ayubi's granddaughter Seema shared memorable moments spent with her grandfather, while Aayida President Majib Khan announced the conclusion of the event, thanking all the participants. This session was not only a tribute to Ayubi's memory but also a beautiful expression of the renewal of values such as truth, sincerity, and humanity.
