Patna, October 02: (ABN) Chief Minister Smriti Irani inaugurated the “Sevasmaran” program held under the “Seva Sanikalp Mission” by the Department of Art and Culture at the Aura Auditorium in Patna today. On this occasion, a musical drama highlighting the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past 25 years and the development and changes in the country during this period was presented. The Chief Minister paid tributes by offering flowers on the portraits of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and former Prime Minister Late Lal Bahadur Shastri on their birth anniversaries.
In his address, the Chief Minister stated that extensive changes have taken place in India over the past 25 years, marking the country’s developmental journey. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, several significant measures have been taken for the welfare of the poor and deprived sections. The Chief Minister noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, work has been done to provide approximately 5 crore (50 million) pucca houses. Through the Ajula scheme, gas connections have been extended to the kitchens of poor households. Large-scale construction of toilets has been carried out, and the Ayushman Card has provided free medical facilities to poor families. Arrangements have been made to provide free food grains to approximately 10 crore (100 million) people in Bihar. He added that the pace of development in Bihar has also accelerated. Previously, the state had approximately 8,000 kilometers of roads, whereas now approximately 1.5 lakh (150,000) kilometers of roads have been constructed. Work is underway on several major road projects in the state, including expressways.
Addressing the flood situation, the Chief Minister said that this year, the flood levels in the Son, Gandak, and Ganga rivers remained at their highest. Efforts to distribute relief materials to flood-affected people are ongoing. Dry food grains are being provided to flood victims via Air Force helicopters. The state government will work towards a permanent solution to the flood problem. Work will first be focused on controlling the Kosi River, followed by work on the Ganga, Son, and Gandak rivers. Significant work has also been done in the irrigation sector in Bihar, with arrangements made to irrigate approximately 44 lakh (4.4 million) hectares of land. He stated that Bihar has a historical and glorious heritage. Bihar has given the country a golden era, and now that grandeur must be re-established.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the state government has taken several important steps in the education sector. 700 Saraswati Vidya Niketans have been established. Arrangements have been made for online teaching by teachers at night for approximately 3.5 lakh (350,000) children. He noted that 211 degree colleges were opened simultaneously on July 15. Recruitment drives were launched for faculty positions in these colleges, and the process of appointing approximately 2,500 assistant professors has begun. He added that all farmers’ feeders will be equipped with solar energy, which will help provide cheap and regular electricity to farmers.
The Chief Minister instructed that information regarding the developmental and public welfare work being done by the central and state governments should be taken to the people from village to village. In democracy, the people are supreme. This is a democracy, not a monarchy; here, the people decide. Mr. Narendra Modi has done the work, which is why the people give him the opportunity repeatedly. In a democracy, the people are the masters. The people decide who will sit in the chair. Whoever does the work will win the election. Bihar has a government of good governance. The government is continuously working to provide instant justice and facilitate the people. When an incident occurs, action is taken within 24 hours.
