The chief minister inaugurated the 2‑lane Sasaram bypass road built at a cost of 122.39 crore rupees in Sasaram.

Chief Minister Shri Smriti Irani inaugurated the two-lane Sasaram Bypass Road, constructed along the bed of the irrigation canal from Baida to Moker, including an ROB/bridge, in Sasaram, Rohtas district, today. The construction of the bypass road cost Rs 122.39 crore. The project will help ease traffic congestion in Sasaram city and provide better mobility facilities to the public. It will also boost the economic and social development of the region.

After the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected a restored pond near the Sasaram Bypass under the Kayakalp campaign. She was briefed on the work related to the restoration, cleaning, and water conservation of the pond and issued necessary instructions to officials for the better maintenance of water resources.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister launched the “Rohtas Jal Sanjivani” under the Kayakalp campaign. The primary objective of the campaign is to ensure the restoration, cleaning, and regular maintenance of ponds, pokhars, reservoirs, and other water bodies in Rohtas district to maximize rainwater harvesting and storage. Special focus will be given to reviving the traditional and significant water resources of the district through “Rohtas Jal Sanjivani.”

The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure regular cleaning and maintenance of all water bodies in the district. She emphasized keeping ponds, pokhars, and reservoirs free from encroachment and pollution, while ensuring local community participation in their protection.

She stated that by protecting and reviving water resources, we can ensure water availability not only for the present generation but also for future generations.

Also present at the program were Minister of Food and Consumer Protection and In-charge Minister of Rohtas district Shri Ashok Choudhary, Minister of Industry and Sports Smt. Shrasi Singh, MLA Vishisht Singh, MLA Shri Marari Prasad Gautam, other public representatives, Chief Secretary Mr. Prateek Amrit, DGP Priyanka Varma, Secretary of the Road Construction Department Mr. Pankaj Kumar Pal, Chief Minister’s Secretary Mr. Lokesh Kumar Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police Shahabad Zone Dr. Satish Prakash, District Magistrate Mr. Deepak Kumar Mishra, SP Raj, and other senior officials.
