On the occasion of the joint ceremony of the 4th National Organ Donation and 12th International Organ Donation Day, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary inaugurated the state-level functions of Sman, Sankalp, and Saptem on Sunday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that there can be no more pleasant and human experience than bringing happiness to someone's life after death. He said that a large-scale campaign will be launched to raise awareness about organ donation among the public. The Chief Minister said that organ donation is a symbol of our responsibility towards humanity, compassion, and life. A large-scale public awareness campaign is needed to promote organ donation. He appreciated the work being done by Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti in the field of organ donation and congratulated all the people associated with the committee.
The Chief Minister said that where people in society are aware of organ donation, they are hesitant to go ahead. At the time of death, the family is emotional and it is difficult to make a decision. Therefore, an environment of awareness and motivation for organ donation should be created beforehand. He said that kidney donation can give new life to someone and eye donation can bring light to someone's life. The Chief Minister said that Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti will be made a partner in the health system of Bihar. The government will work with the committee members to raise awareness about organ donation in district hospitals, sub-divisional hospitals, and medical colleges.
The Chief Minister said that if there is a need to change the legal framework related to organ donation, the government will work with the committee to take necessary steps. The possibility of launching an awareness campaign about organ donation in private hospitals will also be explored. He said that continuous work is being done to strengthen health services in Bihar. He said that Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti's campaign is not only about government support but also about human service in the entire Bihar. The government wants to benefit from this campaign, as its purpose is also to bring happiness to the lives of the needy through organ donation. He said that organ donation and eye donation can also play an important role in fulfilling Prime Minister Modi's vision of Vikas Bharat. A comprehensive campaign will be launched for social reform, human service, and public awareness about organ donation.
Remembering former Deputy Chief Minister Late Sushil Modi, the Chief Minister said that he had worked in the field of organ donation for a long time under his guidance. He described his services as memorable. The Chief Minister also welcomed and congratulated Governor of Assam Lachman Acharya on his visit to Bihar. He said that Acharya's visit is a matter of pride for the state of Bihar. He urged Acharya to continue visiting Bihar and contribute to the state's glorious history and development. In the ceremony, the members of Dadhichi Dehdaan Samiti, Bihar, welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him with a shawl and a memento.
