651 acres of modern sports infrastructure; Proposed sports city on 225 acres, golf course on 187 acres and sports complex on 239 acres
Patna: The state government has taken major steps towards equipping Pataliputra greenfield satellite township with world-class sports infrastructure along with modern civic amenities. In this regard, a high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitish Mishra, in which Sports Minister Shreesi Singh was also present. In the meeting, the provision of various sports facilities including the establishment of sports city in Greenfield satellite township was discussed in detail.
Minister Nitish Mishra said that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, the youth of Bihar are being continuously encouraged to advance in the field of sports, to hone their skills and to excel at the national and international level. With the same objective, world-class sports infrastructure is being developed in the state, so that players can get modern facilities for better training, practice and competitions.
Sports infrastructure in 651 acres
The Minister said that the comprehensive plan of Pataliputra Greenfield Satellite Township proposes to allocate a total of 651 acres of land for sports activities and sports infrastructure. Under this:
Sports City in 225 acres Golf course in 187 acres Modern sports complex in 239 acres
It is planned to develop.
In the proposed Sports City, special attention will be given to develop state-of-the-art facilities for various sports, necessary infrastructure for training and competitions and sports-friendly facilities. Similarly, extensive and modern facilities for various sports activities will be provided in the township through the sports complex.
The facilities will be of Olympic standard
Sports Minister Shreesi Singh emphasized that the Pataliputra Greenfield Satellite Township should be developed as a future-proof township equipped with modern civic amenities as well as excellent and world-class sports infrastructure.
He said that the proposed sports facilities will be developed as per Olympic standards. This will create a strong infrastructure to host national and international level sports events in Bihar and provide world-class training and competition opportunities to the state's talented athletes.
Sports facilities in all 12 proposed townships
Shreesi Singh said that in all the proposed 12 townships in the state, the necessary land for development of sports facilities will be identified, so that better and modern sports infrastructure can be developed in each township.
Principal Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department Vinay Kumar, Secretary of Sports Department Deepak Anand, Director of Sports Department Arif Ahsan, Additional Secretary of Urban Development and Housing Department Manoj Kumar and other senior officers of related departments were present in the meeting.
