Patna: (ABN) In light of various reports circulating on social media regarding the availability of fertilizers in the state, Bihar's Agriculture Minister, Mr. Vijay Kumar Sinha, held a review meeting with all officers of the Agriculture Department and issued necessary instructions. He clearly stated that the department is keeping a constant watch on the availability and distribution of fertilizers and will not tolerate any kind of negligence or irregularity.
During the meeting, a detailed review of the current stock of fertilizers and the distribution system in the state was conducted. It was informed that there is sufficient stock of fertilizers to meet the requirements of farmers and regular supply is being ensured in different districts.
The Minister appealed to farmers to insist on receipts while purchasing fertilizers. He emphasized that they should immediately report any instances of overcharging or quality issues to the District Agriculture Officer's office, the official helpline (0612-2233555), or the WhatsApp number (7766085888) so that prompt action can be taken to protect the rights of farmers. Any written complaint or application received from farmers will be investigated promptly and action will be taken immediately.
Farmers were advised to ignore misleading information. The government is committed to protecting their interests. The Minister specifically directed the District Agriculture Officers in border districts to launch a special inspection campaign to prevent black marketing, hoarding, and inter-state transportation of fertilizers. He instructed that strict action should be taken against individuals or institutions found involved in irregularities or black marketing in fertilizer distribution.
The Minister reiterated the state government's firm commitment to providing timely and standard fertilizers to farmers. He emphasized that farmers should not pay attention to misleading or unverified reports circulating on social media.
He clearly stated that the state government will not compromise on the hard work, sweat, and crops of farmers. Ensuring timely availability of fertilizers in sufficient quantities and at fixed prices to farmers during the *Shardiya* (Kharif) 2026 season is the top priority of the state government. For this purpose, strict action is being taken against individuals involved in black marketing, hoarding, or selling fertilizers at exorbitant prices under a 'zero tolerance' policy.
The Hon'ble Minister said that the state's agricultural sector can only be strengthened when farmers are free from worries about their fields. With this vision in mind, the fertilizer availability, hoarding, and distribution system are being monitored 24 hours a day. The administrative machinery - from the state level to the district and block level - has been fully activated to eliminate any scope for negligence or irregularity at any stage.
He further emphasized that the 'double engine' government is fully committed to the welfare of farmers. Timely availability of fertilizers is being ensured to make self-reliant agriculture, a transparent system, and increased income of farmers a reality.

He directed officials to continuously monitor the fertilizer distribution system and ensure prompt action on complaints received from farmers. He also appealed to fellow farmers to report any irregularities to the department or district administration immediately so that prompt and strict action can be taken.
