An initiative for an enabling environment for industry and start-ups in Patna

Patna, September 16. The district administration has taken a new initiative towards developing a strong and conducive ecosystem to promote industry, investment and start-ups in Patna district. District Magistrate Kandan Kumar directed the General Manager of the District Industrial Center to provide all possible support to the start-ups and industrialists working under various government schemes and ensure that their problems are resolved within the stipulated period. He said that the obstacles in the establishment, expansion and operation of the industry at the district level should be removed soon through coordination with the concerned departments. He clarified that the matters related to land, NOC, electricity connection, pollution, PHED or other departments should not be unnecessarily pending. Through single window clearance, these matters should be dealt with in a timely manner, so that the entrepreneurs do not have to go around different offices. The District Magistrate also directed action on the problems and suggestions presented by the young entrepreneurs and startup representatives in the "Youth Connect" programs organized on the occasion of the last World Startup Day. District level issues were asked to be resolved quickly by concerned departments, while state level issues were to be liaised with concerned departments. He also emphasized on making the plug and play facility effective. Eligible start-ups and industrialists were instructed to provide space allotment and other necessary facilities as soon as space is available. Emphasis was also placed on making better use of the infrastructure and facilities available in all the seven industrial zones of Patna to disseminate their information widely to the industrialists. His aim is to create an environment where there is minimal difficulty in starting new businesses, obtaining approvals and expanding the industry. He said that new industries and start-ups will increase employment opportunities, youth will get new avenues of self-employment and the economy of the district will get a boost. The administration will work towards providing necessary facilities to the industrialists, prompt departmental coordination and effective systems for problem solving.
