Anganwadi to fill 22,891 posts soon as Cabinet gives nod

Patna (ABN) The state cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday approved 24 proposals. A total of 22,000 posts of Anganwadi workers (Sevikas) and helpers (Sahayikas) will be filled in the state. Three special courts will be set up in Patna and Muzaffarpur to hear corruption-related cases. In Bihar, a total of 22,891 posts of Anganwadi workers and helpers will be filled. To curb corruption, three new special courts will be opened in Patna and Muzaffarpur. These decisions were taken during the Bihar cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday. The Samrat cabinet approved a total of 24 proposals. The closed sugar mills in Riam (Darbhanga) and Sakri (Madhubani) will also be revived.
The Samrat government has obtained cabinet approval for the 'Bihar Sports Policy-2026' and the 'Bihar State Cooperative Policy-2026' to promote sports and strengthen the cooperative structure in the state. The cabinet has approved a total of Rs 120.99 crore for the purchase of modern machinery, equipment, and computers for 38 engineering colleges and 46 polytechnic institutions in Bihar.
A total of 22,891 posts of Anganwadi workers and helpers will be filled in Bihar. This includes 6,141 posts for Anganwadi workers and 16,750 posts for helpers. The Samrat cabinet has approved the revised guidelines for the selection of Anganwadi workers and helpers. Two old dilapidated bridges on National Highway 333A in Jamui district will be replaced with new ones. The total cost of constructing both bridges will be around Rs 150 crore. The first bridge will be built at Nariana Ghat on the Kiul River, while the second bridge will be constructed in Mangobandar on the Sakri River.
The long-closed sugar mills in Riam (Darbhanga) and Sakri (Madhubani) will be revived. To achieve this, a decision has been made to set up new cooperative sugar mills through the Indian Potash Limited. The government will provide a financial grant of 40% of the project cost. Corruption-related cases in Bihar will now be heard expeditiously. Two additional courts will be set up in Patna and one in Muzaffarpur. The cabinet has approved the creation of three posts for special judges for this purpose.
Furthermore, the state cabinet has approved the creation of 19 judicial posts to facilitate the speedy hearing of pending cases registered under the SC/ST Act in 19 judicial divisions of Bihar. Under the scheme, administrative approval has been given for water supply projects worth Rs 53.71 crore in Kishanganj and Rs 150.96 crore in Lakhisarai. An expenditure of Rs 236.58 crore has been approved for the Farm Mechanization Scheme under the fourth Agriculture Road Map. This will provide farmers with access to subsidized machinery, custom hiring centers, and farmer drone banks.
A budget of Rs 30.17 crore has been approved for vermi compost and cow dung/bio-gas units in all 38 districts. An action plan worth Rs 97.48 crore has been approved for micro-irrigation under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (Per Drop More Crop). A grant-in-aid of Rs 158.62 crore has also been approved for the Bihar Agricultural University to meet salary and pension payments.
