Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly selected employees in various government organizations at the 20th Rozgar Mela through video conferencing on Saturday and said the country's youth power is at the heart of India's journey to progress.
Addressing the young employees, Mr. Modi said that this job fair shows the commitment of the government to create new opportunities for the youth. He said that the potential and talent of the youth has won the confidence of the world and the world has high hopes from the energetic youth power of the country. He said that free trade agreements are opening up new avenues of opportunity for youth, the agreements pave the way for new partnerships and markets for our traders, as well as create new career prospects for our youth. The Prime Minister said that India currently has the third largest startup system in the world. Also, India's startup story is no longer confined to big cities. Today, almost half of the recognized startups are located in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Mr. Modi said, "Employment-related success brings great joy to thousands of families. It is an opportunity to honor both the personal hard work of the candidates and the great sacrifices made by their parents. I congratulate you all on this new beginning in life." The Prime Minister said that India is moving towards the big goal of becoming a developed country by 2047 and the newly appointed youth has an important role to play in this. He said that through every administrative decision the youth has to strengthen both the drive of a developed and self-sufficient India.
Referring to the recently concluded BRICS summit, the Prime Minister said the government's strategy is to take international cooperation far beyond just traditional government-to-government relations. Initiatives like BRICS Connect and BRICS MSME Collaboration Portal are designed to connect entrepreneurs, farmers, women and youth directly with global partnerships, he said. "Everyone should be an active participant in this partnership," he said. Referring to the economic diplomacy of the past few years, the Prime Minister said that the free trade agreements signed with about 40 countries are opening new opportunities for employment and career. He said that these agreements are creating new markets and new partnerships for the country's entrepreneurs and expanding career opportunities for the youth. Explaining the government's continued focus on skilling the youth for future needs, the Prime Minister mentioned important initiatives like the National Education Policy, Skill India Mission, PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana and efforts to promote apprenticeships. He also mentioned the PM Setu Yojana, under which 1,000 government ITIs are being modernized with an investment of Rs 60,000 crore and with direct participation of industries. It is the government's effort to ensure that the education and skills of the youth keep pace with the needs of the changing economy. Appreciating the rapid start-up system in the country, the Prime Minister said that India has become the third largest start-up hub in the world. He said that now almost half of the recognized startups are from tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
He also praised the youth of small towns, who are actively working on their ideas, building companies and creating new employment opportunities for their peers. Explaining the strategy to increase employment in the private sector, the Prime Minister mentioned the Pradhan Mantri Vikasth Bharat Rozgar Yojana. This is a major Rs 1 lakh crore initiative, which aims to bring two crore youth into the formal employment system for the first time. Linking the creation of employment to the strong state of the economy, the Prime Minister said that new opportunities for the youth arise only when the economy grows, investment increases and new industries expand.
Instructing the new authorities to embrace the era of continuous administrative changes, the Prime Minister stressed the need to simplify compliance with tax laws, ease of doing business, implement reforms in the education and skill sector and open up new sectors for innovation. He gave the responsibility to the young officials that the pace of reforms in the government should not stop during their tenure. "It is imperative that the reform express in the country continues at full speed," Mr. Modi said.
The Prime Minister said that every file signed and every administrative decision should be one that removes bottlenecks, gives space to ideas and promotes investment based on innovation, which ultimately creates jobs. The Prime Minister asked them to use the new powers in the system of government with deep sensitivity. He advised them to try to overcome the administrative hurdles they faced before joining the service. "Your effort should be such that other youths do not have to go through the hardships you have gone through," Mr. Modi said.
Promoting the idea of ​​lifelong learning in a fast-changing world, the Prime Minister directed the new employees to continuously improve their skills and master new technologies through Mission Karam Yogi. He expressed confidence that the new authorities will carry out their duties with full dedication and true dedication in all areas. "Your success will be greater when your work makes the life of a citizen easier," Mr. Modi said.
