Patna: (ABN) After visiting the stalls, while talking to the media, Nishant Kumar said that he has seen the work being done by the department up close. Praising the efforts of his father, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he commented, "Papa has initiated several important schemes within this department, and under his guidance, the Disaster Management Department is progressing significantly. In the past 20 years, this department has set new standards for development."
Nishant Kumar paid special attention to a technical demonstration at a stall, which showed how high-rise buildings sway during earthquakes and outlined the measures taken to ensure their safety. He noted, "I observed how the building shakes during an earthquake and strategies have been devised for its safety. However, I feel that there is still a lack of awareness among the general public. I have also spoken to the head of the department, Uday Kant Ji, and emphasized the need to increase awareness among people."
Expressing satisfaction with the organization of the Bihar Diwas celebrations and the overall progress of the state, Nishant Kumar said that a profound change has come to Bihar today. He said, "Bihar is rapidly moving on the path of development, and the various stalls put up for the exhibition stand as proof of this change. The work done in the field of disaster management is truly commendable."
During Nishant Kumar's visit, several senior officials of the department, including Vice Chairman of the Disaster Management Authority Uday Kant Mishra, were present. Nishant also discussed hospital registration and safety protocols during disasters with officials.
Through various activities, the general public, especially children and youth, are being provided with important information about disaster prevention and management in an accessible and engaging manner.
On Tuesday, Janata Dal (United) leader Nishant Kumar visited the pavilion and observed the activities being conducted at various stalls. Appreciating the awareness efforts by the authority, he termed them highly beneficial for society. Several dignitaries, including the authority's Vice Chairman Dr. Uday Kant, were present on the occasion. The dignitaries included Mr. P.N. Rai, Mr. Koshal Kishore Mishra, Mr. Narendra Kumar Singh, Mr. Prakash Kumar, and Mr. Shambhu Dutta Jha; and the authority's Secretary, Mr. Mohammad Waris Khan.
Under the authority's "Chief Minister's School Safety Program", students are being taught practical techniques for disaster prevention through activities such as puppet shows, street dramas, competitions, and painting sessions. This initiative is not only raising awareness but also promoting a sense of responsibility among children.
The pavilion also features an impressive display of modern technologies.
