Bringing Nitish Kumar's development work to the people is the main objective: Nishant Kumar

Awaz E Bihar•21 April 2026 at 07:11 pm•9 views•3 min read

Patna (ABN) JDK leader Nishant Kumar said that his first goal is to convey the developmental works of former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to everyone and complete the unfinished works. At the state office of JDU today, Mr. Kumar held an important organizational meeting with district presidents and block presidents of Kaimur, Rohtas, Buxar, Bhojpur, Arahnagar, Arul, Jehanabad, Aurangabad, Gaya, Gayanagar and Nawada along with Magadh and Patna-II Paramandal, in which detailed discussions were held to strengthen the party at ground level. On this occasion, Nishant Kumar said that his main goal is to convey the development works of the party's national president Nitish Kumar to the people and to complete his unfinished projects, while strengthening the party at the grassroots level is the first priority. He said that after taking over the reins of Bihar in 2005, Nitish Kumar worked with all sections of the society and tried to bring about a massive change in the state through welfare schemes. The JDU leader said that in the last 20 years, there has been a significant improvement in the life of Dalit, backward, extremely backward, minorities and poor and deprived classes in Bihar. Schemes like bicycles, clothing and student credit cards have promoted social change and have had a positive impact in the education sector. Soon after joining the party, Nishant Kumar started frequenting the JD(U) state headquarters. He is meeting his party workers and officials in the office on a daily basis. Nishant Kumar has said on several occasions that his father - former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar - has done the best in Bihar, and that he deeply appreciates the work done by him. Moreover, Nishant Kumar has repeatedly expressed his desire to tour the whole of Bihar. He wants to interact with people and gain a deep understanding of the state. Nishant Kumar commented that he aspires to understand Bihar the way his father Nitish Kumar does. For this reason, he plans to travel across the state to meet his citizens. While leaving the JD(U) state office today, he announced, "I am going on a Bihar tour from May 3." On the specific program and framework of the visit, Nishant Kumar said party working national president Sanjay Jha - along with other JD(U) leaders and workers - will collectively finalize the details and make an announcement at the appropriate time.
During his tenure as Bihar Chief Minister spanning nearly two decades, Nitish Kumar made several trips. He started most of these journeys from Champaran. Now, following in his father's footsteps, his son Nishanth Kumar is also set to start his tour from Champaran. Nishant's opening tour of Bihar is set to start from West Champaran. While it was earlier speculated that Nishant Kumar's visit to the state would begin from April 29, the date has now been fixed on May 3. He plans to start his Bihar tour from Champaran with the aim that both he can understand Bihar, and Bihar can understand him.
