Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary on Monday reviewed the situation by conducting an aerial survey of various affected and sensitive areas in view of the rising water level and flood situation of river Ganga. Chief Minister Chaudhary conducted an aerial inspection of various areas including Nogachhya Raghopur Diara, Kosi-Ganga confluence area, Begusarai and Bakhtiarpur. During the aerial survey, the Chief Minister reviewed the water level of the Ganges and its tributaries, the situation in the Diara and low-lying areas and the relief and rescue operations in the affected areas. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister directed the concerned officers to keep a constant watch on the flood situation and the administration in sensitive areas should be fully alert. Timely delivery of food, drinking water, relief materials and other necessary facilities to the affected people should be ensured. After the aerial survey, the Chief Minister held a review meeting with senior officials at the Bhagalpur airport and took a detailed look at the flood situation, water level, relief and rescue operations and administrative preparations in the affected areas. Meanwhile, the officers told the Chief Minister that the water pressure is decreasing rapidly. The situation will improve very soon. Chief Minister Mr. Chaudhary said that the safety of flood affected people is the highest priority of the state government. In any emergency, all necessary preparations should be made to evacuate people to safe places and there should be no shortage of relief and rescue operations. He directed the district administration and concerned departments to work in mutual coordination and continuously monitor any changes in water level and flood situation. The Chief Minister directed the officers to carry out immediate repair work and to continuously monitor the sensitive areas. Mr. Chaudhary directed that the Water Resources Department should be fully vigilant and continuously monitor. In flood situation, continue to provide full assistance to the victims as per SOP. Perform relief and rescue operations with due diligence and sensitivity.
