Commercial LPG cylinder price increased by 195.50 rupees, new rates applied

Awaz E Bihar•1 April 2026 at 01:46 pm•93 views•2 min read

New Delhi, April 1: Amid the ongoing crisis in West Asia that has led to a surge in global crude oil prices, state-run oil and gas marketing companies on Wednesday hiked the price of a commercial LPG cylinder by 195.50 rupees. However, there has been no change in the price of domestic cooking gas. The new prices have come into effect from Wednesday.
Due to the price hike by oil marketing companies, the commercial cylinder has become costlier by 195.50 rupees in the national capital Delhi, 196 rupees in Mumbai, 203 rupees in Chennai, and 218 rupees in Kolkata. According to the information provided by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), after the price hike of the commercial cylinder today, the price of a 19-kg LPG cylinder in Delhi has increased from 1,883 rupees to 2,078.50 rupees. Similarly, in Kolkata, its price has increased from 1,990 rupees to 2,208 rupees. In the country's financial capital Mumbai, a commercial cylinder will now be available for 2,031 rupees instead of 1,835 rupees, while in Chennai, the price of a commercial cylinder has been increased from 2,043.50 rupees to 2,246.50 rupees.
Notably, this is the fifth increase in the price of commercial LPG cylinders used in hotels, restaurants, dhabas, and other commercial establishments in the last four months. Prior to this, it had become costlier by 114.5 rupees on March 7. On March 1, 2026, its price was hiked by 28 rupees, while in February, its price was increased by 49 rupees, and in January, it was hiked by 111 rupees, whereas in December 2025, the price of a 19-kg commercial gas cylinder was reduced.
As a relief, the domestic LPG cylinder has been kept out of today's price hike. There has been no increase in the price of the 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder used in kitchens. The price of a domestic LPG cylinder was last hiked by 60 rupees on March 7, 2026. According to the information provided by IOC, the price of a 14.2-kg non-subsidized domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi is currently 913 rupees. In Mumbai, its price is 912.50 rupees, in Kolkata, it is 939 rupees, and in Chennai, it is 928.50 rupees.
