A review meeting was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Road Construction Department Minister E. Kumar Shailendra. Issues like expediting the construction of Rail Over Bridge (ROB) in Bihar, removing technical hurdles and ensuring timely completion of various clearances were carefully reviewed in the meeting held at the department's auditorium. The General Manager of East Central Railway, Mr. Dumpy Garg and several other senior officers participated in this meeting. During the meeting, officials of Road Construction Department, Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited (BRPNNL) and Bihar State Road Development Corporation Limited (BSRDCL) took up the pending issues related to ROB with the railway authorities. It was informed that the Bihar government is constructing a total of 58 ROBs in the state, of which 47 fall under the East Central Railway zone. Progress of signaling and telecommunication and traction distribution works, level crossing shifting, GAD, structural design and drawing, traffic block etc. were reviewed point by point. The target is to complete 50 ROBs across the state by June 2028, officials said. Regarding matters related to BRPNNL, status of Level Crossing Diversion and Signal and Telecommunication/Traction Distribution Shifting in ROB at Jeodhara-Bapodham, Motihari Court-Bapodham, Sogoli-Majhulia, Darbhanga-Muhammadpur, Thalwara-Lahiria Sarai, Raghunathpur, Todiganj etc. BSRDCL and National Highways were discussed in this meeting. Authority of India (NHAI) progress of several important projects was also reviewed. Railway authorities assured all possible cooperation in the construction of ROB. He proposed to set up a dedicated design wing at the level of BRPNNL and BSRDCL to carry out preliminary inspection of the project designs before submitting them to the Railways. In the meeting, Minister E. Kumar Shalandar directed to speed up construction of ROB, increase manpower to reduce structural design time keeping in mind the convenience and safety of the public. He also urged the state and railway teams to work in coordination. He stressed to complete all the projects within the stipulated period. The meeting was attended by Special Secretary of the Department, Chief General Manager of BSRDCL, Regional Officer of NHAI, Managing Director of BRPNNL and other officers.
