Chief Minister Nitish Kumar arrived in his native district Nalanda on Thursday as part of his ambitious 'Samriddhi Yatra'. The entire district was abuzz with excitement over the Chief Minister's arrival, with the district administration fully prepared for his security and reception. During his visit, the Chief Minister presented Nalanda with a major gift of development projects worth over Rs 810 crore. The city's landscape changed with the Chief Minister's arrival, with major roads being repaired, painted, and beautified on a war footing. Additionally, grand welcome gates were also erected at various locations. As per schedule, the Chief Minister arrived in Bihar Sharif at around 10:30 am by helicopter. Special helipads were set up for him at the Nalanda College and Sohgi High School grounds. From there, he traveled by road to the old Ranchi Road, where he inaugurated the Smart City flyover from the LIC building to the Sohgi College crossing, which is expected to bring relief to the city's residents from traffic jams. After that, the Chief Minister inspected the construction of the riverfront near the village of Koshk in Panchanadhi. He then headed to the Deep Nagar Stadium, where the main event was held. At the event held at the stadium, the Chief Minister inaugurated 110 completed projects worth Rs 316 crore and laid the foundation stone for 106 new projects worth Rs 494 crore. These projects include a proposed agricultural research and training center in Sermira, development schemes for various municipal bodies, panchayat government buildings, schools, Jeevika Bhawan, and sports fields under the Smart City initiative. On this occasion, the Chief Minister addressed a large public gathering. After the event, he held a review meeting with district officials at a temporary auditorium inside the stadium complex to review the progress of development projects. The administration was fully alert regarding the Chief Minister's security. On the instructions of District Magistrate Kandan Kumar, sensitive areas of the city were temporarily declared a red zone. Meanwhile, the areas of Deep Nagar Stadium, Riverfront, and Flyover were declared no-fly zones, and all flying objects, including drones, were banned. A special traffic plan was implemented to ensure smooth traffic flow. There was a ban on the entry of ordinary vehicles in areas like Ranchi Road, Hospital Mor, and Kachahari Mor. Parking zones were set up for outside vehicles at five locations, including Rahuwa Mor and Kargil Bus Stand.
