Patna: (ABN) A three-day workshop was organized by BUDCO today under the 'Mission Project Completion' to review the actual progress of infrastructure projects being implemented in all urban areas of Bihar and to ensure their completion within the stipulated timeframe. During the workshop, the Principal Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department stated that the purpose of 'Mission Project Completion' is not only to review but also to ensure the solution to challenges at the lower level. He emphasized that urban infrastructure development presents both a challenge and a significant responsibility, and therefore, engineers must continuously update their knowledge and expertise. He directed the engineers to carefully and regularly review documents such as DPRs (Detailed Project Reports) and bidding documents so that no issues arise later. He instructed that the land-related aspects of projects be verified beforehand to avoid complications in later stages. He directed that project-related files, particularly those related to tax payment procedures, be acted upon and addressed in a timely manner. He warned that disciplinary action would be initiated against any official found to be negligent at any level. The Managing Director provided detailed insights into BUDCO's operational procedures to the guest of honor and participating officials. He stated that BUDCO is responsible for the entire state of Bihar, and thus, it is their duty to maintain transparency in their work and ensure continuous monitoring of the entire process, from the selection and allocation of agencies to the final completion of the project. He further informed the gathering that in the coming days, BUDCO plans to establish an in-house laboratory for quality checking and assurance. **What is 'Mission Project Completion'?** BUIDCO is currently implementing several major projects in all districts of the state, including water supply, stormwater drainage, road construction, Chief Minister's Urban Comprehensive Scheme, and AMRUT Scheme initiatives. In the first phase of this mission, a dedicated team led by the Managing Director visited all districts to inspect the actual ground realities and prepared a detailed investigative report. Now, in the second phase, officials from all districts have gathered for this workshop. Key activities of the workshop: Officials from each district will present the actual status of construction work, progress achieved, and obstacles faced in their respective areas. An open session was also held, during which officials were encouraged to freely express their concerns and challenges. Based on the presentations and reports presented over the three-day period, the ranking of all 38 districts will be announced. Officers from districts demonstrating notable performance will be awarded appreciation certificates. During the program, Nitu Kumari Nogit - the brand ambassador of 'Namami Gange' initiative - presented a musical performance. The workshop was attended by Project Directors (PDs), Deputy Project Directors (DPDs), officials of the 'Namami Gange' initiative, and headquarters officials representing all 38 districts of Bihar. The workshop concluded with a session organized by 'The Art of Living' Foundation, in which all participating officials and staff members participated.
