Patna (ABN) All preparations have been completed for the important state function to be held on the occasion of Independence Day at the historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. The event will be conducted with great pomp, dignity and order. Divisional Commissioner Manik Varode said this during a joint briefing with magistrates and police officers at Gandhi Maidan. A final inspection and rehearsal of the event preparations is done to ensure that all the Independence Day celebrations run smoothly and on schedule. In a joint briefing with officers, District Magistrate Kundan Kumar said that all necessary preparations have been made keeping in mind the rainy season. Adequate arrangements have been made for security, gallery management and necessary facilities for VIPs and VIPs. He directed the officers to ensure the convenience and safety of the people participating in the event. Superintendent of Police Kartike K Sharma said that the entire Gandhi Maidan has been divided into four sectors and sub-sectors to maintain law and order. An Additional District Magistrate and a Deputy Superintendent of Police have been posted as senior in-charge of each sector. A total of 62 magistrates and police officers have been posted at Gandhi Maidan and Kargil Smriti Chowk to maintain law and order. Apart from this, a large number of police personnel have also been deployed. All designated magistrates and police officers have been directed to reach their respective locations by 6 am on August 15. To further strengthen security, the entire Gandhi Maidan and surrounding areas are being monitored by CCTV cameras. CCTV cameras installed under the Smart City project will also monitor every inch of the event. Gandhi Maidan will also be monitored by drones. The Integrated Command and Control Center located in the Police Office Complex will continuously monitor the entire event. The district control room will function in three shifts and a sufficient number of security magistrates and police officers have been deployed for the purpose. District Magistrate Kundan Kumar said that keeping in view of the weather, a shed has been constructed over the gallery covering an area of about 80,000 square feet. This will make it easier for fans to attend the event even in changing weather and rain. Adequate and optimal lighting is ensured at Gandhi Maidan through light towers, LED metal lights and high mast lights. Tableaus of 13 departments will be the center of attraction in this year's Independence Day celebrations. Apart from this, 20 parade troops will participate. During the final rehearsal, the parade and other events were rehearsed and the necessary preparations reviewed. Main gate number 10 is reserved for VIP guests while yellow card holders, press and media representatives will enter through gate number 9. Women will enter through Gates No. 12 and 13. Students will enter through Gates No. 2, 3 and 4. General public will enter through Gates No. 6 and 7. All concerned authorities were directed to work together to conduct this historic Independence Day celebration with utmost dignity, discipline, security and grandeur and to provide all possible facilities to every citizen participating in the event.
