Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it has destroyed a large cache of military equipment and fuel tanks at the US Navy's Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain as part of the fifth phase of "Operation Nasr-2" on Wednesday.
According to Mehr News Agency, the IRGC said in a statement that the attack targeted the US National Security Agency (NSA) administrative center, command and control center, large warehouses of military equipment and parts, and fuel tanks of the US fleet.
The statement accused the US of deploying "sea pirates" to the Indian Ocean to block maritime trade routes and disrupt oil and gas supplies from the region under the pretext of protecting the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC said the US should realize that its "sea pirates" have blocked the route of oil and gas exports from the Indian Ocean to the world, putting the interests of its economic rivals at risk. It also warned that other oil and gas export routes that serve US and its allied countries' interests could also be blocked.
The statement said that oil and gas exports from the region would either be for everyone or for no one.
Earlier, the IRGC launched missile and drone attacks on US military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait on Tuesday evening in response to recent US attacks.
The IRGC said in a statement that its naval and aerospace units carried out a coordinated operation codenamed "Ya Zayn Al-Abidin".
According to the statement, several warehouses storing weapons and parts for US warships and aircraft were destroyed at the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
The IRGC claimed that the MQ-9 drone deployment ramp at the Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait was also targeted, resulting in the destruction or disablement of several drones.
The statement said the operation was carried out in response to US attacks on several Iranian coastal military bases on Tuesday afternoon.
The IRGC warned that as long as US "crimes" continue, retaliatory actions will also continue, and any future attack will receive an "unexpected response".
Iran also said that oil and gas exports from the region would not be possible as long as US interference continues, which would further delay the process of reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
The IRGC claimed on Wednesday that it had targeted a US military logistics and support center in the Mina Abdullah area of Kuwait, which was hit in the fourth wave of Operation Nasr-2.
A video was also released, although it is unclear whether the burning building in the video was related to the US military.
CNN has geographically verified the video, which shows an Iranian drone attacking a warehouse on fire in an industrial area near Mina Abdullah in Kuwait.
The drone is seen approaching the burning warehouse, colliding with it, and causing a large explosion.
The video also captures the distinctive sound associated with the Shahed drone before the attack.
According to the video, rescue teams were already on the scene trying to put out the fire before the drone attack.
On the other hand, the Iranian state news agency IRNA reported that Iran's military had targeted US military assets at the Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan.
According to IRNA, Iranian attack drones targeted the location of F-18 fighter jets in the eighth phase of Operation Sa'eqa, as well as a residential building and a large equipment hangar allegedly used by the US military.
However, CNN notes that F-18 fighter jets are typically deployed on aircraft carriers, not on ground bases in the Middle East.
Iran's military and state media have previously made several claims of successfully targeting US facilities, many of which have been proven false.
Iran also claimed to have targeted the Al-Azraq Air Base last week, where it alleged to have destroyed a hangar for F-35 fighter jets.
These latest Iranian attacks on US interests come as the US has reimposed its naval blockade on Iranian ports.
Meanwhile, US officials said that US forces are helping to protect Kuwait from Iran's continued retaliatory attacks.
To this end, the US has also used its limited stock of Patriot missile defense systems.
Meanwhile, Kuwait's Ministry of Defense said that an Iranian attack hit a Kuwaiti navy ship, injuring four armed forces personnel.
Iran also carried out multiple attacks on Bahrain on Tuesday, which triggered air raid sirens several times.
According to the semi-official news agency Fars News, Iran's IRGC claimed to have destroyed a US unmanned ship control center in Bahrain.
