On the other hand, US President Donald Trump has claimed that the US is in direct and indirect talks with Iran. He told reporters, referring to the negotiations between Washington and Tehran, that "we are in direct and indirect talks with them". Trump further said that during the meetings, both sides are discussing very important issues.
He claimed that Iran has largely agreed to the US peace plan, but the US wants to make additional demands on Tehran. On February 28, the US and Israel began targeting targets in Iran. Tehran is also retaliating against Israeli territory and US military installations in the Middle East.
The tension around Iran has caused an effective blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a key route for the supply of oil and liquefied natural gas from the Gulf to global markets, and has affected oil exports and production in the region. The blockade has led to an increase in fuel prices in most countries around the world.
