US President Donald Trump has once again clarified that Iran will not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances. Speaking on the second and final day of a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing, President Trump said that both leaders agree that Iran should not have nuclear weapons and that the Strait of Hormuz should be reopened. He said that several issues related to the Iran crisis have been resolved that others could not have resolved. According to President Trump, there is "a lot of coordination" between the US and China on how to end the ongoing conflict with Iran.
He said, "We feel very close to ending this situation." The US President described his visit to China as "glorious" and said he has great respect for Xi Jinping. Earlier, in an interview with Fox News, Donald Trump warned that time is running out for Tehran and that Iranian leaders must make a deal soon. He said that if any suspicious movement is seen in Iran's nuclear facilities, the US will launch a direct military attack. Trump claimed that previous US military actions had severely damaged Iran's efforts to build nuclear weapons.
He described the Iranian leadership as "crazy" and said that if Iran succeeds in acquiring nuclear weapons, it could use them against Israel, the Middle East, Europe, and even the US itself. The US President also said that China has the ability to influence Iran, especially on the issue of not imposing a fee on passing through the Strait of Hormuz. According to Trump, the US is working to reopen the Strait of Hormuz in the interest of the entire region. He further said that if Iran does not make a deal, it could also be "eradicated", but he does not want that.
On the other hand, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the US President's visit has further strengthened confidence and understanding between the two countries, and that the two leaders have also agreed on a new framework for strategic stability. The Chinese Foreign Ministry emphasized that an early and comprehensive ceasefire is necessary in the region, and that a prompt diplomatic solution to the Iran crisis would be in the interest of all parties. In an interview with Fox News, he said that as a result of the US bombing, the relevant site has been completely destroyed and the mountain has fallen on it.
According to him, initially, experts thought it would be impossible to reach there, but they still want to get that material and are hopeful that the US will get it. Trump further said that if necessary, the US can also bomb Iranian nuclear facilities again to prevent anyone from accessing the uranium there. He also claimed that the US is continuously monitoring the Iranian nuclear centers that were recently targeted by US attacks. US President Donald Trump has said that he has no objection to suspending Iran's nuclear program for 20 years, but it requires real commitment.
