A by-election has been announced for the Bankipur assembly constituency. So far, neither the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) nor the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan) has announced its candidate. However, the election strategist Prashant Kishor's party is set to announce its candidate soon. The state president, Manoj Bharti, has already given clear indications regarding the candidate's name. The top leadership of Jan Suraj has been holding meetings regarding the by-election for the past few days, and all matters are now clear. It is reported that Jan Suraj will field Prashant Kishor himself for the Bankipur assembly seat. Jan Suraj state president Manoj Bharti has expressed confidence in his party's victory from this constituency. He said that he had taken feedback from the people of Bankipur over the past month. Based on this, the leaders and workers of Jan Suraj, who are confident of a certain victory, have prepared to make Prashant Kishor their candidate. Bharti noted that the people of Bankipur have intense anger against both the central and state governments of the NDA, as well as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The people are disillusioned with this government and want Prashant Kishor to contest the election to teach them a lesson. The party leaders also believe that the founder of Jan Suraj should enter the electoral fray. Political analysts observe that the BJP has long held sway over this seat. The Kayasth voters have historically played a decisive role here. Consequently, if Prashant Kishor - who belongs to the Brahmin community - enters the electoral fray and the BJP fields a Kayasth candidate, it will be quite difficult for Kishor to win. The BJP has a vote share of around 63% in the Bankipur constituency, while Jan Suraj has around 5%. This is a significant gap. With the election scheduled for July 30, increasing the vote share will be an extremely difficult task for Prashant Kishor.
