Patna: (ABN) AISA President Neha Bora visited Beur Central Jail on Monday to inquire about the well-being of students and public representatives arrested during the student protest in Patna on July 22. Inside the jail, she met with detained student leaders, MLAs, and other protesters. After leaving the jail, she stated that the detained students had made serious allegations of mistreatment and misconduct by the police during the crackdown.

Following her meeting with the detained supporters, Neha Bora issued a strict ultimatum to the Bihar government, demanding the immediate release of the arrested students and public representatives by July 29. The AISA president warned that if justice is not provided to the students, a large-scale protest will be held across the state on July 30. She clarified that if necessary, a massive crowd, reminiscent of the gathering at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, will be assembled on the streets of Bihar.

During her visit, Neha Bora also discussed the situation with senior officials at Beur Jail. After the conversation, she stated that the jail administration had assured her that the detained students and others will not face any hardship. The officials assured that all detainees are being provided with necessary facilities and security as per the rules.

When journalists asked Neha Bora about the attacks on media personnel during the protest, she declined to comment and remained silent. On the other hand, student leader Ajit Kushwaha strongly condemned the attacks on journalists. He said that in a democracy, the freedom of the media must always be respected, and violence or attacks against journalists are unacceptable under any circumstances.
