Minister reviewed 121 schemes of Bridge Construction Corporation and ordered to complete the work on time

Patna, Aug 27 :(ABN) Road Construction Minister Engineer Kumar Shailinder held a high level review meeting of various under construction and proposed schemes of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited (BRPNNL). Meanwhile, he gave strict instructions to complete all the projects within the stipulated period and to maintain the quality in the construction work. In the review meeting, the special secretary of the department, Dr. Shailja Sharma, chairman of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation, Dharminder Kumar, chief engineer (work management), managing director of the corporation, all senior project engineers, deputy chief engineers and other relevant officers were present. Informed the minister. After that, 15 flagship projects included in them were reviewed in detail and point by point.
The Minister directed the officers to continuously monitor all the projects to complete them within the stipulated time and the quality of construction work should not be compromised at any level. It was also directed to speed up the work by solving the pending projects issues due to land acquisition and forest land related matters.
During the review, the Minister said that the construction of Sasaram Bypass has been completed, so it should be inaugurated as soon as possible. He directed to review all the projects weekly and speed up the work.
Issues related to the alignment of the proposed four-lane bridge between Ekchari and Saidpur in Bhagalpur area and the preparation of DPR were also discussed in the meeting. Apart from this, the proposal to four-lane the road from Belhar to Dard Mara (SH-22) was also considered. The Minister said that the construction of these roads and bridges will improve the traffic in Bhagalpur area and give momentum to the all-round development of the area. A DPR was directed to be prepared for the same. Possibilities of changing the alignment of the link road to a national highway were also considered to better connect the under-construction Panduka bridge with Uttar Pradesh, so that traffic between Bihar and Uttar Pradesh would be more convenient.
1. Saran District: Construction of Double Decker Flyover from Gandhi Chowk to Municipality Chowk in Chapra City. 2. Patna: Construction of about 1,730 meters long four lane over bridge including link road and service road on both sides to connect Mithapur flyover with Chiraiya Tannad flyover via Karbagahia. 3. Purnia: Construction of 1,180 m long high level RCC bridge and 1,785 m long link road at Abhepur ghat on Mahananda river between Besa on SH-99 to Kanki on NH-31.4. Saharsa: Construction of 2,700 m long high-level RCC bridge and 740 m link road over Kosi river between Khajodriwa Chowk and Dangrai Ghat.5. Saharsa: Construction of ROB and link road on LC No. 31 between Saharsa and Panchgachia railway stations on Bengali Bazar to Purab Bazar road.6. Khagadia-Bhagalpur: Construction of 3,160 m long two by two lane high level RCC bridge, link road and safety works over river Ganges between Agwani Ghat and Sultanganj under NABARD Loan Project (RIDF-XXI).7. Sultanganj: Expansion of four lane bridge including link road to connect Agwani Ghat-Sultanganj Ganga Bridge project with Mirzachoki-Mongir bypass near NH-80.8. Nalanda: Construction of greenfield four-lane road from Salepur to Rajgir NH-82 via Nursarai, Ahiyapur and Slaw. Its total length is 27.180 km.9. Nalanda: Construction of two ROBs totaling 7.0718 km in Halsa (East) Bypass.10. Madhubani: Construction of Road Over Bridge on LC No. 39C between Jengar and Khajuli Railway Stations on Jengar Road (NH-527B).11. Madhubani: Construction of 25.825 km long two-lane road including western section of Kanakpur (NH-527A) ring road and southern section from Barsar to Gangapur.12. Rohtas: Construction of total 9 km long road from Beda to Mokar in Sasaram bypass road.13. Rohtas: Construction of 2,150 m long two lane high level RCC bridge including link road near Panduka over Sone river under Central Roads and Infrastructure Fund. 14. Buxar: Construction of connectivity road of Janeshwar Mishra Setu from Chege 91+810 of NH-84 on Ganga river, Buxar to NH-19, Ballia (Uttar Pradesh).15. Begusarai: Construction of new Road Over Bridge (ROB) on LC No. 7B between Bruni and Teghra railway stations.
In the meeting, the situation of Kawa Bridge in Bhagalpur district was also reviewed. The Minister directed the officers to start the repair work of the bridge immediately and restore it to its previous condition. Officials assured that the repair work of the bridge would be completed soon.
The Minister of Road Construction said that all the projects being run by the department in the state are being ensured in a standard, transparent and timely manner. Regular monitoring of construction works at the district level and coordination with the concerned officers is being made more effective. He said that strong road and bridge infrastructure in Bihar is the main basis for the development of the state. Constant monitoring of all projects will remove bottlenecks and necessary steps will be taken to complete the work within the stipulated period.
