Patna:(ABN) Political backlash continues after Union Home Minister Amit Shah's announcement to implement Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in 21 BJP-NDA ruling states of the country ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2029. BJP's ally JD(U) leader Shyam Rajik has said that when this bill came up in Parliament, our leader (Nitish Kumar) clearly said that he supports the bill, but will not allow it to be implemented in his state. We stand by our same point even today.
Congress MP Imran Masood has also reacted in this matter. He said that Amit Shah's statement is only for the vote bank. He further said that whether UCC is enforced or not, it does not matter, this is a country of traditions and people will follow their traditions. You will not discuss issues like inflation and unemployment, but issues that are not important. On the other hand, Congress leader Rashid Alvi said that for the last 12 years, BJP has been doing everything against Muslims. He also questioned whether economic conditions will improve with UCC. Will UCC eliminate unemployment? Will UCC lower petrol and diesel prices? Why do you want to implement it in 21 states?
Rashid Alvi added that uniform civil code means uniformity in civil law. Currently there are separate personal laws for Hindus, Muslims and Christians. You are going to enforce this law in 21 states, it is just stubborn to disturb the Muslims. Unemployment or economic situation is not the focus of BJP leaders. Triple talaq, uniform civil code, mosque-temple and Hindu-Muslim are your agenda. BJP has decided to ruin this country. It should be noted that Amit Shah had said in a program held in Mumbai that the phase of implementation of Uniform Civil Code in many states has progressed and by 2029, UCC will be implemented in all 21 BJP and NDA ruling states.
