Patna, 14 April (ABN) In the midst of indications of a change in power in Bihar, an emotional meeting was held on Tuesday between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his cabinet colleagues, with tears in the eyes of the ministers. Mr. Kumar discussed his decision to go to the Rajya Sabha and the formation of a new government in the state with his cabinet colleagues during the nearly 17-minute meeting. When the Chief Minister thanked the ministers, government officials, and employees for their cooperation during his tenure, all the ministers present became emotional. The cabinet members also praised his leadership and thanked him for ruling Bihar for almost two decades. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Chief Secretary Pritya Amrit also addressed the meeting and expressed their views. No formal agenda was presented to the cabinet during the meeting. The meeting concluded with a group photo, after which Mr. Kumar left for his official residence. Immediately after the meeting, Bihar's Agriculture Minister Ram Krupal Yadav confirmed that the Chief Minister may resign at any time today. He said that Mr. Kumar himself informed the cabinet about his decision and his tone and manner of speaking seemed normal and balanced. Mr. Yadav, praising Kumar's services, said that he has done important work for the development of the state. Rajya Sabha member and close associate of Mr. Kumar, Sanjay Jha, hinted at the continuity of the style of governance in Bihar, saying that there will be no major change in the functioning of the new government. He said that the new government will work under Kumar's guidance and vision. He also indicated that Kumar will continue to advocate for Bihar's interests in his new role at the center. Minister Shravan Kumar termed this moment as a natural process in political life. He said that working under Mr. Kumar's leadership has been a learning experience, and his role in solving the state's key issues has been extremely important. Meanwhile, the process of government formation has also gained momentum in the state. The BJP legislative party meeting is scheduled to be held in the presence of observer and Union Agriculture Minister Shivaraj Singh Chouhan, who has arrived from Delhi. A meeting of all NDA allies is also scheduled for today, in which the alliance may formally elect its leader. With Nitish Kumar's resignation, the process of forming a new government in Bihar will move forward, and the swearing-in of the new Chief Minister is likely to take place on 15 April.
