Patna's 475,000 pensioners have 54 crore transferred into their accounts

Patna, August 10: The monthly pension amount for the month of July under the Social Security Pension Scheme has been transferred to the bank accounts of the pensioners of the state through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Chief Minister Mr. Samrat Chaudhary transferred the pension amount through this process. On this occasion, a district level program was organized in the conference hall of Patna Collectorate, in which a large number of beneficiaries of social security pension schemes participated. A total of 4,75,752 pensioners under all six types of social security pension schemes in Patna district were transferred the July pension amount to their bank accounts. According to the district administration, a total of Rs 54 crore 4 lakh 71 thousand was transferred to the accounts of these pensioners through DBT. The beneficiaries are being provided pension at the rate of Rs 1100 per month. On this occasion, Patna District Magistrate Kundan Kumar said that social security pension schemes are an important initiative of the government towards providing financial support to the needy, deprived and vulnerable sections of the society. By transferring pension money directly to bank accounts, the beneficiaries get timely financial assistance and facilitate them to meet their daily needs. He said that regular, transparent and direct transfer of social security pension money to the accounts of the beneficiaries strengthens financial inclusion and social security system. It also strengthens the sense of self-confidence and autonomy among the pensioners along with economic stability. During the district level program, District Magistrate Kandan Kumar directly interacted with the pensioners present and got information from them about various issues including payment of pension. Expressing gratitude to the government for this initiative, the pensioners said that the timely monthly pension of 1100 rupees is an important financial support for them. At the program venue, an atmosphere of enthusiasm and happiness was seen among the pensioners towards the measures being taken by the government for social and economic empowerment. Emphasizing timely benefits to the eligible beneficiaries, the District Magistrate said that it is the priority of the district administration that the benefits of all social security schemes reach the eligible and deserving individuals. He instructed the concerned officers to ensure the effective implementation of the schemes and that no eligible beneficiary should face any problem in getting pension. The program was attended by Deputy Development Commissioner Patna Shubham Kumar, other senior officers of the district administration, officials of the relevant departments and a large number of eligible pensioners of social security pension schemes.
