Siwan, May 4 (ABN), In a major crackdown against land mafia in the district, police on Monday morning raided the residences of RJD MLA from Raghunathpur assembly constituency, Asama Shahab. The operation was led by Saran DIG Neelish Kumar and SP Purnea Kumar Jha. The police team conducted simultaneous raids at his ancestral home in Pratappur in the Hussainganj police station area and his house in Naya Qila in the Town police station area. A thorough search of the residence in Siwan lasted for about 40 minutes. After the raid, DIG Neelish Kumar clearly stated that land mafia in Siwan should leave the city, as police are prepared to take strict action against them. He informed that a case of grabbing a doctor's land has come to light in the Mahadia police station area. During police investigation, several individuals, including MLA Asama Shahab, have been named. According to the DIG, police have found sufficient evidence in the case, on the basis of which warrants for the raid were obtained from the court and action was taken.
