Political activities have intensified with regard to the Bankipore assembly by-election. Amidst this, actor and Trinamool Congress MP Shatrughan Sinha has openly expressed his support for Prashant Kishor, the founder of Jan Suraj. In a post on the social media platform, he termed Prashant Kishor's entry into the electoral fray as a "big bomb" in Bihar politics. In his post, the former MP from Patna wrote that Prashant Kishor - an extremely capable, farsighted, and extraordinarily brilliant intellectual, people's leader, and a personality who is immensely popular, commendable, and articulate - has not only shaken the political landscape in Bihar but across the country by entering the election fray. He further stated that as a "Bihari Babu", he finds this political development extremely interesting and certainly explosive. He hoped that the general public, especially the younger generation, would support Prashant Kishor beyond the boundaries of caste, religion, and party affiliation. Finally, Shatrughan Sinha concluded his message with the words, "Jai Bihar! Jai Hind!" Jan Suraj candidate Prashant Kishor said that the outcome of the Bankipore by-election is entirely in the hands of the people. He said that if the result were in his control, Jan Suraj would not have faced defeat in the previous assembly elections. His role is only to present an alternative to the people with honesty. Now it depends on the public whether they elect him or someone from another party. Targeting the BJP, Kishor noted that the party has given Nitan Naveen the important responsibility of national president, but resigning from the MLA seat was not a condition for this role. He pointed out that the BJP has no rule of resigning from assembly membership to become the national president. Yet, Naveen accepted a Rajya Sabha seat. Consequently, this Bankipore by-election will also provide an opportunity to gauge public opinion about the BJP's leadership and policies.
