Patna, August 11: Bihar government minister Shelia Mandal said on Tuesday that prohibition has led to increased economic savings in families and a decrease in domestic violence. At a public hearing program held at the Janata Dal United state office in Patna, Minister Shelia Mandal listened to the problems of complainants from across the state and gave necessary instructions to the concerned authorities for immediate redressal of the received applications as per law.
During an interaction with journalists, Ms. Shelia Mandal said that Nitish Kumar took a bold and important step towards social reform by implementing prohibition in 2016. Since then, a positive change has been seen in the social environment of the state. Especially, the hard-earned money of poor and middle-class families is now being spent on children's education, family needs, and household prosperity instead of being spent on liquor. She said that prohibition has led to increased economic savings in families, a decrease in domestic violence, and a stronger sense of security and respect in women's lives. Prohibition has strengthened social harmony and family prosperity.
On the occasion, state general secretary and headquarters in-charge Ms. Anjum Ara was present to cooperate with the program.
